I'm the same way with LOTR and The Hobbit. I watched 10 minutes of the first LOTR movie several years ago. I don't hate it, I just never got into that stuff. (I'm a huge Star Wars fan though.)

Hence your username Darth Lego! Same with me, I never got into LOTR or Hobbit, but I definitely got into Star Wars.
