That's because they are pre selling. Ebay prices will drop as soon as LEGO Shop at Home gets fully stocked again. Sellers probably have about a week flip on ebay before the price starts coming back to MSRP. 

So much for the super limited production run theories.

Ouch. Lego must have been pretty sure it was gonna be a seller so they made a ton from the get-go.

Maybe if you charge for shipping. I have sold 3 at 299 with free shipping, make about 35 plus the vip points. My lego store has plenty but I don't want to risk a ban. 

In the UK the limit has dropped from 2 to 1 and ship date is 25/03/14 keeps getting pushed further through March was the beginning of March the other day

I built one of these. It looks awesome. I still have one more. I am contemplating getting more at the double VIP in April, since the parts value is really good.  Lots of rare colours and loads of tan pieces.  Bricklink stores should stock up (if Lego will let them) to fill their inventories!
