I Thought This Might be Fun....

So I've been sorting through me old Lego sets and pieces & I thought I'd try something.   Anybody every try to build any classic sets and change the color to make your own custom variation?   Here's a couple I came up with so far, from a couple of my earliest sets:

The Classic Jeep 330-1 & Bi-Plane 430-1

Let me know what you think...unless this has been covered before.

Thanks!

That is a cool idea of customizing sets with different colors. I do not have many classic sets, but I have a few, and I may customize them in the future.

I thought about doing this with the little yellow car from 76002.  It's a neat little car, but I think it would be slick in black.  :)

I think I'll do the Lear Jet (originally white) next in black or blue....should be cool.

Have fun, and if you have the time, please post some pics. I really enjoyed looking at the other two customized sets that you did.

Neat idea.  I like how you've stuck to one colour for each as a substitute and not just all over the place, makes them look like proper Lego designs.

I have seen some builders on Flickr doing their own redesign on older sets to make them fit into todays standards or even use alternate colors for certain sets but not quite like this.
