That's an interesting view. I think that the Grand Emporium is a superior build and looking at my handy dandy BP price guide shows that the FB was selling UNDER US retail nearing its end of life and the Grand Emporium has been over US RRP all of this year and has been 20% or more over retail beginning in June 2014 (now at +40%). It really seems to be trending towards a long steady growth and my guess is more profit long term than the Fire Brigade - my opinion of course.

Also, someone noted that the GE was the first with an interior design - the FB has an interior design and was a 2009 model.

I will take credit for the interior design, but I said it was the first corner building to have an interior, and the first model to have an interior was the Green Grocer, not the FB.

Got mine from Aug 20th in. Codes are 36R4. Was just made this month.

As was prognosticated by me couple of months ago (I was predicting 36R4 or 37R4 run). So far it is similar to fire brigade story last year, so, presumably, last run

You can't tell me there's any use of these seal codes.....pssshhh Haha

My order placed on July 21st and August 8th just got shipped yesterday and another today. So have 2 incoming. Tempting to get 2 more ... Might wait till double VIP points.

Order just shipped and will be here tomorrow, I love living in the middle of the country...

Hopefully they're still in stock next week so I can grab one more with the VIP promotion...

I placed my order at LEGO Shop at Home 2 days ago for GE and today received notice that it was shipped!

So when they say out of stock until Oct 2....what are they really saying??

Same here.

Also same!

Also Same...Except when I actually open the email, the only thing that shipped was the Worriz Fire Bike.  Still shows GE backordered

So I ordered 2 on August 16, then another 2 on September 1st. Today I received all 4 of them in great condition. I wonder why they all came at once though? (Not complaining though)

Well yippie... GE is now #1 on the top selling list on LEGO.com. I hope after today, this set is gone.

Apparently you are not here long enough to know FB was one of the most stocked up sets around this time last year? People were saying it was hoarded too much that it would not be a good investment...

And the total amount of investors also grew exponentially since last year. And I'm not saying it will not be a good investment! I'm saying it will not be as profitable as FB.

I would definitely be charging for your advice since it appears you have it all figured out.

as people come to play this game, people will also leave it ...

Speculation is the new facts.

"Sold Out" once more

So glad I ordered right away or I would've missed out, thanks for the advice guys!

Thank the Lego gods.  Hopefully they don't pull the trigger on another run...since they are having problems getting new sets to Canada maybe this is it for GE.

Glad I pulled the trigger if it went to sold out again. Oh, and it has been shipped apparently, like 1 day after the rest of the order.
