We all know this should be on everyones list.  It's a corner piece, very elaborate, and most importantly been out since march 2010.  We all know how the fire brigade is doing. How many does everyone have?  Are you buying any up soon?

TBC is Tuberculosis... TB is the universal abbreviation for the Lego Tower Bridge

Never heard of TBC as an abbreviation for Tuberculosis. TB actually stands for the latin name of that disease (which I can't remember at the moment)

yepp in germany it is called TBC, dont know if it the same in the US, latin name is tuberculum

Both are correct abbreviations.

From all the reply im reading, the veteran in this forum are saying "buy now if you have the funds, if no funds, hope it wont be too late". I for one, will start buying at least 1 per month. As a rookie on this hobby, i just to thank the seasonal veteran for their guidance.....

Lego shop@home US: GE: expected ship date April 9!

Yesterday it was March 23. It would be funny when they change it to may, so nobody can buy it during double vip points.

Or is it possible to order it during double vip although it's not available at the moment?

I m planing to buy at least 10 of these as we have all seen the increase seen in fire brigade( i had only 3) the question is GE is only available at retail price how to get best possible price?

As long as you can put it in your bag and pay for it, you should be able to buy it.

yeah, right... assuming they learned anything from recent zoo/hearse/PA fiasco... when even "cancelled" did not mean anything

John Lewis in UK is out of stock. Yesterday they had 10+ but today out of stock.

Someone probably panicked. And it wasn't me.

And bought all 26 of them?

I have checked the stock levels over the past few weeks and they did not change much. I doubt one individual bought all 26 (I'm looking at you, TabbyBoy), but if enough of the Brits here panicked that would explain it.

Or one person with deep pockets bought all of them. But that would still be a lot of money.

If the GE would not retire, it will retire now. People are panicking.

Could be Mark... His 41999s need a city of modulars...

Isn't the grand emporium in the most recent catalogue?

That would make sense as it goes from January to June 2014. It is still available at Lego.

If anything, I think the too early panic buying only results in more being produced and extended life since it appears to TLG there's some new interest in the set. I don't think this set was planned to be out of production until the end of the year, but I think heavy buying can end up extending that time.

Agreed.  This makes a lot of sense. I've been buying a few here and there for the last year, so I'm not worried.  It seems a lot of people are a little paranoid after the FB seemed to vanish from one day to the next.

Not guilty! I've been getting mine from Amazon Spain when they were less than

I checked the catalogue of Jan-Jun 2014 (3 times). There are no exclusives shown in the catalogue. Maybe there is another catalogue for more expensive items??

Well, yeah.  If LEGO Shop at Home cancels your order, than no points.  But everything I ordered (even if it was on back order, which a few things were), was still charged immediately, and still got me my VIP points.

I'm worried about this, but it seems that it is not likely to happen. Maybe the GE will disappear around Black Friday, like the FB did last year.
