We certainly have some high level execs from TLG among us.......I mean how else could some of you speak with such absolute certainty about these sets. I would think having such a high profile job with

Looks like a great summer.

First the SSD, then VC off of tru website, and now GE gone from LEGO Shop at Home!

don't even mention all others....trains 7939 & 7938, may be horse trailer and 60015 Coast Guard (Target Exclusive)...

btw City CGP (60015) off radar all this time....never been really on sale in Targets....MSRP and Up on eBay....will be great set after EOL....just do not tell anybody, lol

so many big name sets are going EOL this year, we must have one hell of a 2015

I would like to enjoy one hell of a Sept-Dec selling period first :)

I sent my brother to pick up 4 more GE from the LEGO store in Kansas City.  I called and the guy said they had 7 in stock.  I am leaving 3, not sure why.

The Trains are going to be continuation theme............. (new Cargo train and new High Speed Passenger train).

I think we will see very small margin for these 2 sets.

How long has everyone be investing in lego?

is the sept-dec period always pretty crazy?

I just started before that period last year and yeah... it was pretty crazy =)

It's not retired until it is says retired... and even then TRU could do something funny..

I don't remember what happened with FB, but I thought that it was basically available everywhere up until the last minute then poof!

GE has seemed to be OOS at all the major retailers for a while now. Maybe showing up here and there on their websites but not very often. Amazon seems to have never really restocked and same with TRU and Target.

So what do you guys think? Any resemblance to what happened with FB for those that remember?

I think with FB, there was actual "retiring soon" tag...

I would love to see Lego release a new modular this summer (like PR last yr) and than officially list GE as retired in the coming months.

Once GE is gone...I guess someone will create a new topic, 'Pet Shop - Gotta retire sometime' and cycle continues.

So would I, I'd like to sell my FBs for

Any Information about availability of GE in the store in Frankfurt? Or generally in lego stores in Germany?

I'm pretty sure folks posted here saying they saw "Retiring Soon" tags.  Reddit is where the truth really lies.  (Wow, that is profound, I must say)

I saw the "Retiring Soon" placard on the Fire Brigade shelf at the Glendale Lego Store just before the mad rush to get them. It was the first time I'd seen confirmation of its imminent demise.

If any Chicago BPers are reading this I just called the discovery center in Schaumburg.  They had 2 on the shelf there the other day and I called to see if they are still there and she said "oh yeah we have plenty".  So I'm going to swing in and get 2 or 3, sounds like there will be leftovers after that.  Get 10% off if you get the annual pass, at $40 it pays for itself quick.
