any idea when triple VIPs kick in?

Last year it was on Black Friday

Wasn't it the weekend before Black Friday? I remember buying a couple of different things on Black Friday and I didn't get Triple VIP points.

What does GE stock look like in US lego stores. I had planned to hit the one at Fashion Mall in Vegas to use my VIP points to grab one since US/CAN VIP points are equivalent... Think there is a chance of any being there in second week of July?

Are we sure?  I bought my last Fire Brigade on 11/30/13 and also received the $10 promotional gift card and Holiday Set 2/2 as well, on top of my 1 x VIP points.

it also depends on if you were buying online or in-store. The promotions for Black Friday were different for online and in-store. Also, I can remember some members reporting that they received 3X VIP points and getting the Holiday Set 2/2.

I'm in Canada too...somehow I don't think it'll be realistic to find GE's in Lego Stores a couple of week from now.  With Sold Out status, I'm sure collectors/investors etc are going to check out their local stores sooner than later for inventory.  But who knows, some stores might have stock left. 

 

TRU.ca last I checked still had stock so could be your 'last resort'.  Sucks no vip pts/promo now but if you predict GE will be like FB at $350ish after 1/2yr of retirement, than $199CAN retail doesn't look that bad.  Pretty soon, $200-$225 will seem like a bargain. 

Was thinking the same thing weakside. Have a 20 off ebay coupon that expires today so could pull the trigger through TRU ebay. Guess my VIP pts will go elsewhere when in Vegas

I think so...if you can find it buy it.  When it's officially retired, you don't want to think back and say you could of bought more at retail price.  Kinda like what I felt when I missed out on the FB. 

I expected this thread to go "XBOOM" when SOLD OUT is posted on SAH.

I'm not clam at all!  I want to drive to the nearest lego store right now and get the 2 I know are on the shelf!  But....I have a ton of work to do.

FB getting to sold out was too close to Christmas. GE has 4 month to go. And it is a corner unit.... So, hopefully, it gets to $300 by November...

 When I was there last month they didn't have any GEs and said they weren't getting any more. But you know how that goes. I would call and check before you drive over.

last check they had zero. U can always call them first .

Thanks for the heads up - TRU Canada has a limit of one per customer at the moment.  Since the chances of getting one at a B&M looks slim, I'm ordering now rather than later.  This will go OOS as fast as the SSD at TRU.CA once Canadian BPers get home from work and read this thread.

 

Btw the one I ordered from S&**** earlier in this thread (when it listed the expected ship date of June 26, before going to in 30 days then sold out) has been shipped one day early.
