July 9, 201411 yr So the polybags end up being free? Yes. Word of warning - it is tempting to place bunch of separate orders for currently backordered sets, wait for polys to ship, then cancel orders. I think they'll figure that one out, at least eventually
July 9, 201411 yr Yes. Word of warning - it is tempting to place bunch of separate orders for currently backordered sets, wait for polys to ship, then cancel orders. I think they'll figure that one out, at least eventually And that is why we can't have nice things ..
July 9, 201411 yr It's called price comparing. I look at Australia and they're just too far for me to sell to. I tried to buy two from TRU ca and they rejected my order. There were some SSDs at $499 and with our exchange, we'd be doing pretty good but TRU said they can't ship to me which sucked.....I find that Australian supply goes out of stock first all the time and selling down there is the best. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker TRU won't ship Lego internationally from Canada to the US or vice versa. You can bet they either do this because Lego says they must or because they like to rob us Canadians like Lego does with their crazy markup. Current exchange is something like 10% yet our prices are around 25-30% higher. Rip Off! That said, I buy too much Lego anyways. Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker
July 9, 201411 yr If they ship you the poly and you cancel the order you will be charged 4.99 for it. If they cancel the order they won't charge you.
July 9, 201411 yr Heads up. It's back up on Lego's us site. Can't LEGO make up their minds? Too much back and forth is driving me crazy!
July 9, 201411 yr I expect there will be many cancellations on this set for those who are ordering and it will be random. This seems to have happened to quite a few retiring sets in the last 6-7 months. Inventory is a mess as they sort the last few remaining sets for distribution. I may take a day off of work when the SSD and GE switch to retired product. Maybe smoke a stogie as well.
July 9, 201411 yr Anyone use a gift card for a back ordered set? I want to buy more ge but don't want to tie up funds. Thinking about using my credit card to buy one from LEGO Shop at Home and using my gift card for the ones I find in the wild
July 10, 201411 yr OK, no one has posted on this thread for 15 hours. I thought my Email had broken. I will be passing a Lego store today, do I get another or try to source a Technic 9398 which should also be near EOL.

July 10, 201411 yr I was able to pick one up when it was backordered at LEGO Shop at Home. Thought it was weird they just shipped the shredder polybag by its self.

July 10, 201411 yr They always ship promo separately if the main component of the order is backordered ah ha. thanks What happens if they cancel because they cant fulfill the order? Do you get the keep the poly?
July 10, 201411 yr ah ha. thanks What happens if they cancel because they cant fulfill the order? Do you get the keep the poly? If _they_ cancel, then yes, you keep for free. If _you_ cancel, then in theory they will charge you 4.99, but I am not 100% sure they will

Don't forget about it though! The funds, while not actually used, will still not be automatically released...you will need to call.
July 10, 201411 yr Just got an e-mail this morning from Lego saying that the order that I placed a few days ago for 2 GE's are "currently out of stock, and it will be a little longer before we can ship them to you." My order info has changed from "Customer service" to "In progress" so I'm hoping that it will go through...anyone ever dealt with this before? Should I be getting my hopes up?
