Just for the record, "Sold Out" again at Lego US (it went back to order-able after my prior post)

my order from yesterday afternoon went through - got confirmation email - email says delayed shipping as I expected - that's what it said when I ordered it - doesn't give a date.  Free shredder poly is In Process.  

 

hard to tell what's going on here since if they were doing another production run you would have thought they would just let people keep ordering.

 

otherwise they are relocating stock to us/north america?

do they even do that?

 

hopefully we'll get a few more of these last gasps of stock(?)

or another production run.

 

i guess we'll be able to tell when we see the seal codes.

Shoot missed this one only have 1 of these (that I want to open) and would love to get 3 or 4 more. Hopefully will come back for a bit

I guess there is just a relocation going on. Europe had the GE in stock with max. 5 per customer while US was sold out. Then some days ago suddenly BOTH websites (Europe and US) had similar expected shipping dates. This does not look like a new production run to me, it seems more like they are distributing the remaining stock equally, serving all markets (customers) in the same manner instead of saying US is strictly sold out and Europe has plenty left. The SSD situation looks different meanwhile.

 

Sometimes you can get the impression that LEGO improvise or decide spontaneously much more than you would expect. While most people on this forum talk about what LEGOs "plans" are. Could well be that they don't have any and handle the whole topic of relocation/ new production/ EOL more day-to-day as one would expect.

I have a feeling the Grand Emporium will be back in stores before too long. Previous modulars have retired around Christmas time, I don't reckon things will be any different. Unless maybe two modulars go this year.....

Checked the Nashville Lego store yesterday, no GEs. Tons of Parisian Restaurant, and many Pet Shops. HH and AA had healthy stock as well.

Ordered a GE late last night and it was cancelled this morning.

mine was ordered at 4:18 pm eastern time and is still listed as BACKORDERED and the free shredder is IN PROCESS.

Did you login to see whether you are getting the free shredder?  when they cancelled my big zoo orders in march i ended up getting 3 martian manhunter minifigs even though orders were d/c.

Order placed at 3am eastern this morning, the whole order was cancelled, including polybag.

It is EOL so no more to go to brand stores. Only random restocks at LEGO Shop at Home if they find a few pallets lying around that were buried or overlooked. No other modulars will be retired this year.

Panic buying in 3.. 2.. 1..

I thought that it might be the banhammer too, cause I did something crazy a month ago.  Purchased 3 GE's from LEGO Shop at Home within 10 minutes.  I know, suspicious right? Anyway, took advantage of the balloon cart promo.  Those three shipped no problem.  I waited a week or so and tried ordering one again, plus a TB.  The tower bridge was cancelled almost right away, which made me think that I'd been banned, but the GE went into "customer service" and was there for several days before it got cancelled.  At this point I thought I was for sure banned, but I called in and the guy told me that there was an issue with the credit card on the TB purchase and that is why that one got cancelled.  I wonder if the GE got cancelled because it being out of stock?  I asked him about that and he said that sometimes there are glitches in the system where it allows you to order it, but then its out of stock.  Sounded dumb....aren't all set availability controlled by computer?  Anyway, I also asked if if there was any other issues with my account, and he said no. He said that I could order something no problem. I asked it I could order a GE and he told me that they were out of stock. Anyone experience this before or something like it? Can you trust a Lego rep when calling in? or will they tell you everything is ok when in fact, you've been banned. Thoughts?

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! (Darth Vader voice).  Dang, I hope they put some more out later.  I didn't pull the trigger getting the second one since I was a couple bucks short in my Paypay account.  Well, what should I blow my money on now?  Wait until the GE's hopefully pop up again, buy Arkham, Lex-Superman, Arctic Batman?  Don't have any of those. 

 

Sorry, not trying to get off topic and discuss other sets in this GE thread but I don't think a new thread would need to be opened for that since were all discussing the GE being sold out here.  What's next?
