Got it, I never had anything other than space sets when I was a kid. Missed all the old castle, pirates, and city. It's a cool ship.

Awesome find.  I found the old Imperial Flagship last week on CL for $15...thank you, I'll have another please!

Yea, going to hang on to it for now. I have all the other sets from the 1989 Pirates wave from my youth, this was the only one I didn't have. (Too pricey )

 

I know I am in the vast minority, but when the 2nd tier came out, I didn't like how they personalized the minifigures so much more. Part of me liked the generic soldiers and such. I think too much detail in the legos took  away some of the "imagination" factor, for me anyway. It also coincided with my teenage years, so that may have played a factor as well. Little did I know what was to come.

$65 is nothing to complain about! That`s a wonderful set, and a must have for any Pirate fan, or Lego fan in general. Awesome find!

the second wave was when I was in my prime LEGO days....thought they were really good until about the time the native islanders sets came out. That was the death knell of classic pirates :(

Sold one a couple days ago for around $230. You can be happy you paid $65 lol

Sails look in good shape, clean her up and she'll look splendid.
