anyone seen a retiring soon tag on them in store?

I think someone said the Lego retail store had a retiring soon in the last week.  Somewhere in brickpicker.com

WW1 was 1914-1918 and this is the centenary year of WW1. Who knows, it may be around from 2014-2018?

I was talking UK prices. In fairness I hadn't checked Sopwith prices for a month or so, recent ones have been selling around retail. That said the last four Campervans have sold at

Still with all the various 100 year anniversary dates coming up for WW1 and public awareness coming back to that era, the Sopwith going EOL soon could make it a big sleeper.

I am a Sopwith fan.

WWI was such a crappy war. All slaughter, no real strategy, and not much fun...  If this were the Red Baron instead, that would still be pretty cool (especially if it came with a Snoopy minifig and buildable flying Doghouse).  The Camel, though...  13 years is a long time to wait for a 200% return.

One of the problems with the Sopwith is that the box doesn't do it justice, I find it totally unappealing, whereas the set itself is pure awesomeness!

  • 2 weeks later...

just received my SC from lego, ordered 9/1.

seal code 12R4 if anyone is interested.

Same here, just got my 2 that I had ordered on aug 20th. Same code

I'm fan of this set but have underbought it, and it seems like that's the case with a lot of sellers. It's been "flying under the radar" so to speak. Heh heh.

For what it's worth I have 5 of these. I'll also say that who some considered big time so to speak do not have many of these.

I only have 7. Meant to pick up more but only bit in the tru get a free ywing with sc. Should have grabbed a lot more.

I am up to 5 and trying to add a few more through LEGO Shop at Home but about at the max of what I am comfortable to get through them.

Listed on Lego as shipping sept 22. May still be able to snag a few

Now listed as shipping October 6 and limit of 2.  Maybe this one really is done soon.  Man, what an exciting 2nd half of 2014 this could be.  SSD, Haunted House, and possibly GE and Sopwith going away for good.
