February 28, 201312 yr Sorry if I seemed snappy, I didn't mean it that way but I see it could have read differently. I have only been on here for a month and at the time there was a lot of talk about it since the last few were going in Amazon and there has been a small resurgence as the last few were snatched up from TRU this week. The guy who bought six of them the other day, I would call that a good supply since it is such a large set. BTW, is anyone else here a little afraid that there aren't many more large sets coming out? The last several UCS sets haven't been all that large, the 10212 was decent but not a $300+ set, the tower bridge is a $240 set, nothing insane, I know the part count is high but many of you have seen my opinions on what really constitutes a sets size. The Star Wars theme is really what has gotten all of the largest sets, if they slow down or stop, what will we do for our bread winners? I would love to see some large sets from other themes like LOTR/Hobbit but we will see. There is talk that the opera house will be massive but we are also getting very excited here too, it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same size or smaller than the tower bridge.
February 28, 201312 yr I think its a great set in my book it is alot better and cooler looking than Zombie themed train that people say it will be a winner. But then again I never really was into LEGO zombie theme.
February 28, 201312 yr It is an afol winner in my book, especially for anyone who loves flight, those who are pilots or have parents/grandparents who are pilots in the military or commercial just love everything to do with flight.
February 28, 201312 yr This set looks great, i have been looking around for deals but can't find any, so will have to buy from lego for
February 28, 201312 yr I think that this set will do well, but not super well. Also it hasnt been out for too long so dont expect a quick eol and profit
May 4, 201312 yr The set just came out last year, so why is it selling for so much more on eBay than the retail? Is it retiring? I thought it would be around for a while.
May 4, 201312 yr It's a Lego exclusive. You can't get one at any of the big box retailers, and for a while even Amazon's price was 130 or 120. Also, keep in mind that Lego LEGO Shop at Home doesn't ship to every corner of the world, while some ebay sellers will. I dont think it is retiring soon, i'd say christmas at the earliest.
May 4, 201312 yr I didn't realize that was an exclusive, I thought I saw them for sale at Walmart.com for the same price as Lego.
May 4, 201312 yr The Sopwith or Volkswagen Camper could retire by Christmas at the earliest, but we have at least another solid 8 months to grab them.
May 4, 201312 yr I expect VW camper will go first, it's been out longer. Sopwith Camel is high in the US, in Europe it is cheaper, on EBay and at Amazon. This must make it unique in the lego world :)
May 4, 201312 yr I could have sworn it was an exclusive. My bad. Anyhoo, if youre a builder you need this set. I bought one to keep sealed but i couldnt help myself, i opened and built it and it is fantastic. Beware the size, though. It is big and youll need some space to display it.
May 4, 201312 yr Lego exclusives have a habit of turning up on other major retailer's websites. They still are primarily available at a bricks & mortar Lego Store or the Shop-at-Home website but eventually they can be purchased off of Amazon and the like online.
May 4, 201312 yr LEGO Shop at Home UK has both Sopwith camel & vw camper list as Hard to Find, not exclusive. Explains why amazon etc... has them.
May 4, 201312 yr LEGO Shop at Home UK has both Sopwith camel & vw camper list as Hard to Find, not exclusive. Explains why amazon etc... has them. Is hard to find= to low production?
May 5, 201312 yr Is hard to find= to low production? Not at all. For example the Death Star and Fire Brigade are (or have been before) under hard to find, and they are far from being considered low production.
May 6, 201312 yr Did you seriously have to open ANOTHER thread for this? yes...anyone's ready for another one?
May 6, 201312 yr Did you seriously have to open ANOTHER thread for this? Do me a favor and not be so harsh on the newer members.......give people some time to figure out the forums, point them in the right direction. Not everything has to be an argument ;)
