Walmart's "Clearance" LEGO Section Updated! - Canada

Walmart recently updated their online (and in store) Lego clearance to include quite a few more items. Many of the 2nd wave LOTR sets are included, and some remaining 1st wave Hobbit sets. Currently the amounts off are fairly low ($10-$20), but seeing as most of Walmart's LOTR/hobbit stock is dwindling, the prices may be the best we will see from them until they are scooped up.

Unexpected Gathering is on there, and i only ever see about 1-2 at most on the shelves in the area, at only $10 off though it still feels a bit hard to pull the trigger. Weathertop is only $10 off (this should be a much more aggressive clearance if you ask me, along with Shelob). Some sets (like Weathertop) are on sale but are not actually listed as "rollback" or "clearance".

There are still some  desirable wave 1 LOTR sets kicking around in the GTA Walmarts as well. Gandalf arrives is $5.00 (10 or so were at Squareone the other day), Mines of Moria $65 (found them all over the GTA, some still available at Lawrence and Keele in Toronto/Brampton East) and Urak-Hai Amry $30 (only saw 1 at Brampton East). A Walmart in Brampton listed no stock of Mines of Moria, but i found 5 on the shelf. So Walmarts stock count may be off and you could get lucky!

Walmart's site is a bit clunky in that you need to actually scroll down and search the location to see the price, the online price sometimes does not update the recent clearance. For example Gandalf Arrives is listed on the site as $15.99 (not in stock online), but at the Mississauga Dundas East location down below it shows the clearance price of $5. This is the same for many items. Most Walmart's that i had been to have not updated the clearance prices yet, so just make sure to scan em first!

Anyways nothing amazing yet, but i thought i'd share. Just as MOM and Gandalf Arrives slowly increased in %off; i'm sure some of these will too, and are worth keeping an eye on before they're gone!

bought 9 more Pirate Ship Ambush's today for a total of 10.

Great autocorrects!

not too familiar with SW sets mentioned but stay away from Gundam. not worth it even with the Queen. or just pick up one if you must. Wargs were cheaper at $33...not sure if you can find now. maybe pick up one for personal. nothing special about those Millwood spiders at that price imo.

personally I would save my funds for other sets. that Rancor deal at $38 tops all of these (to bad on location/availability).

just my 2 cents... hope this helps your decisions.

Thanks for the tips! True i dont think these deals are that great but i dont seem to be able to find the good deals some others here mention from time to time. Did find 75017 Duel on Geonosis for $24 at a walmart not too long ago. They might me clearing those out at other locations soon.

While their clearance section has not been updated for a while and stock on the current items is extremely slim; they have a few Superhero items on "Rollback" which is currently only %20 off.

Nothing special as getting superhero stuff at %20 off is pretty easy, but some of the older Superhero sets are definitely candidates for their next clearance wave. So it might be worth just keeping an eye out, especially on the Spider Cycle and Arctic Batman.

Also it looks like some stores have lowered the AT-TE and Jabba's Sail Barge down to $70 from $90 for anyone lucky enough to have stock around them!

Amusingly enough, it's the same at my Walmart. Clearance is the same stuff it has been for the past couple months and the main Lego aisle must be getting 'stocked' by the most lax employees ever. There was a few tags for some Super Heroes and a couple of City sets at 20% off but either they did not last or nobody felt like actually putting out stock on the bloody shelves. :mda:

Its not a bad set but i hope they will discount it further, 80 dollars is still too much in my opinion.

34% is quite a significant discount, but still not enough IMHO to justify this set. $60 would make me bite, but not any higher. It doesn`t appear to be popular enough to warrant getting at that price.

Was just at a walmart and they had unexpected gathering at 70... I think that's pretty good?

I believe that's retail... Not a great deal.

Guess someone thought 80 dollars was a good price after all and cleared them out. :twitch:

BTW i still see LOTR Pirate Ambush for 80 dollars at walmart, do you think its a good price? I was waiting for them to price them down more but i guess its not happening.

If you can still get them at $80 i would recommend getting them. Got around 8 of them myself at $80 a couple months ago. They still have them available online, but back up to full retail. Maybe they will do an online clearance at some point, but it might not be worth the risk if they don't.
