Shopping today and saw this set reduced to 69 euros( about 90 dollars) Should i hold off a bit longer or should i nab some at this price? Its the only time ive see it cheaper than retail..including online. help.....

Well, investors may not have thought they were popular, but shoppers sure did. The 2 "Full" Toys R Us in my area sold out of them. I purchased two. One had a beat up box though, so I will hope to exchange when they get more.

 

One interesting note: At "Toys R Us Express" (The ones in the mall) They don't give out gift cards, like with this $10 gift card offer. So they instead lowered the price $10, so I got it for $50. Preferable for me anyway.

Most TRU had the shelves empty and were not re-stocking from what three store clerks told me. Should be interesting, but I took most advise from others on here and only purchased two.

Just a heads up, TRU is offering Palpatine's Arrest free with any 'Hard to Find' purchase.  That's SSD, Death Star, new X-Wing UCS and R2-D2.

To clarify, any STAR WARS hard to find purchase. And it's online only.

Holy schnikies how many boxes of Palpatine's arrest does TRU have?  This thing is sold out and comes back more than Brett Favre and Michael Jordans multiple retirings added together.

I don't really like either set for building, or investing...but bought anyways. Sell the arrest for 40 bucks, get the wing for 160--and another 10 back as I put this on my wish list---so 150 isn't a bad entry point. I do like the box, so I'll display it sealed until I can sell it for a profit--3 years to stare at a box....in hopes of a $250 sale in 3 years...possibly. Unless this one stays for 5 years.

Same here. I get that commercial no matter which channel I am on. Plus, there sales and deals are not fantastic. They are the opposite of fantastic.

Did you already have the xwing on a wishlist? If not you most likely won't get the giftcard. The promo is only supposed to work with wishlists made before the 28th.

they obviously overproduced this set since it has been on sale for a solid 2-3 weeks now, both at TRU and LEGO Shop at Home. So this means that they are clearing inventory and that it is probably near it's EOL, but is also means that a lot of folks out there are stocking up on it. In my mind still a 7/10 investment wise, as long as you get it in the $70 range and you need to be able to sit on this set for 1-2years since it will be quite some time before it will reach MSRP, probably around the time the new SW comes out.
