What Lego set did you sell today and for how much?

LOL another Sale!

Ebay NIB City 60000 Fire Motorcycle $8.00+ shipping. Only 10 or more to go. I believe buy-in was @$2.50/ea.

All I can add to that is ... 10248 Ferrari F40 $400 FBA (Buy in was $90). Was intended as a personal build but picked up a lot with a VW T1, a Mini Cooper, a Caterham and an F40 (all used w manuals) last year for ~$150, sold the Mini already, and now this sale makes them all free ...

Oh and sold an Aira and the Song of the Wind Dragon for $135 ... buy in was $19.

Finally sold my last star wars buildable figure, what a relief.

Bought these when I first started investing in 2016 /2017, I just saw the 50% off plus sign and thought how could I lose money! Boy did I not take into account things like:

- Set turnover rate (how many sell on ebay in a day)

- Set appreciation (I just assumed all lego would appreciate forever, I didn't research at all if the buildable figures would be sought after in the future).

Even though I managed to miss the real stinkers like rey / jyn erso, I still only barely sold over my buyin cost, most profit per set was a couple of pounds, not a loss but definitely one of the worst investments I've made.

I did managed to make money on the general gracious / jango fett.

The last wave of buildable figures proved to be very rare in UK, and I managed to buy some after they retired and the boba fett / darth maul sold for about 2x rrp.

Lesson learned, now hoping I can shift some of my old minifigure series, which I also didn't really think about, and rey speedors...

No Minecraft Mountain Cave craziness (WOW!!) but sold a sealed Darth Revan for $70 shipped on eBay. I accepted the offer which was a little lower than market value because I have six more to sell.

sold 3 minnie mouse brickheadz to one buyer fbm for $180 .   buyin was msrp $30.  shipping across the country for 3 is $11.

41175 Elves Fire Dragon's Lava Cave $119+shipping
79004 The Hobbit Barrel Escape $60+shipping

Apocalypseburg for $500+shipping

good to hear. i'm on my last one and hoping for similar. think you could have gotten more?

well, maybe... It was my last one. I had it at $475 and then upped it to 495 a few weeks ago. HE asked if I would take 450, I said no, and a week later he bit.  All in he was at $528. It was on a USA FB group for lego buying and selling.   Buy cost $260.

mind sharing the FB group?

I sold a number but my favorite sale was 60056 Tow Truck for a buy-in of 10.05 for $115 for a total profit after expenses of $78.91 or a return of 785%.  I don't have all winners but if someone told me I could turn $10 into almost $90 in five years - I would take it.  Bought in on March 9 of 2015.

So today it was Mandalorian Fighter 75022 purchased on January 9 of 2015 for 15.04

Sold for $120 for a total return of 574% after buy-in and expenses.  Plus the buyer combine shipping with two other orders so Shipping cost was lower on this one as well

But the low value one was a 75115 Poe Dameron buildable figure that I bought for 6.63 on August 3, 2016 and sold for $20 for a return of 7.69 or 116% after buy-in and expenses.  The combined shipping helped this one turn a profit.

I just don't want anyone to think it is all great returns.  I have some slow movers I am shipping as well.

First time selling in three years.  6949 sealed for $200 plus shipping.  Could have squeezed a little more but it was a freebee.

So for today...

Two little ones - Republic Troopers vs. Sith Troopers (75001) purchased on 2/132014 for 9.54 and sold for $40.  After expenses a profit of 20.33 or 213%

The second one - CHIMA!!!  Lion Tribe Pack (70229) bought for $5.01 on 8/8/15 and sold for $30.  After expenses a profit of 16.07 for a return of 320%  (A return of 320% and Chima in the same sentence - something you thought you would never hear!!!)

Bought a U-Wing two years ago for $35, built it, displayed it, sold it last night used for $80 with $10 shipping on eBay.  Now it's time to tear it down, the less fun part.
