May 17, 20169 yr Been selling plenty of Disney MF on BL. FM had BOGO 40% Lego last week, so win. $5-$7 each, buyers usually buy 8 or more. Also starting to sell off LM minifigures from some of the clearance sets
May 17, 20169 yr Some recent sales on eBay (prices include shipping) Grand Emporium + Town Hall combo $850 Haunted House $425 Sopwith Camel $170 Jabba's Sail Barge $140 Ant Man $74 Captain America Poly $13
May 17, 20169 yr Death Star for $570 cash. Buy in of $330 in July 2015 and it would have to get up to about 725 on ebay for me to reach the same value based on shipping it across the country somewhere, plus taking it to USPS is a little more work for me **US funds of course.

Just had a Craigslist inquiry for the 2 Darth Revans I got from Yorkdale 2 weeks ago. That was fast. Easiest $100 for 14 pieces of lego I've ever seen.

Interesting, I have been contemplating selling a Death Star for $550-$575 cash with a buy in of $300 this past November.
May 17, 20169 yr Author Emerald Night 10194 for $380 shipped. Hate to see it go but it was just sitting there gathering dust and I realized I'm not that big of a train enthusiast.

You can determine your selling point by assuming that you are a regular eBay seller with a 12.9% fee + 0.30 + the most expensive shipping plus insurance, based on distance, to see what your ideal selling point is and then determine the value you place on the hassle of shipping it, dealing with box damage claims, etc and how long it will take to reach your price point. I decided that I could not pass up a 72% profit, on a big ticket item, for a 9 month hold with no risk especially because it may take another 6-12 months to reach my price point resulting in a 0% increase in profit over that time. Adjust your price points if you are a top rated seller (10.9%) or sell on amazon, bricklink, or brickclassifieds. Edited May 17, 20169 yr by redghostx

I would take $570 cash as well. I'd even go $550 but there are two posted in my local Craigslist at $500 and $550 and both have yet to sell.
May 17, 20169 yr EBay 10211 - Grand Emporium - $320 FBA 60057 - City: Camper Van - $43 60048 - City: Police Dog Unit - $54 70115 - Chima: Speedor Tournament - $36 70132 - Chima: Scorm's Scorpion Stinger - $48
May 18, 20169 yr 3 bundles of dimensions (14 fun packs and a lvl pack total) on eBay for a total of $130. Buy-in was $63.
May 18, 20169 yr Got rid of most of my Star Wars play sets (9516, 9525, 75020 and 75005) for slighty above RRP in cash. Not a super sale but it clear up space and these sets are not making gains. The trains are going to a good home next month too. Need to shift my remaining City and Chima and then I´ll only be left with Exclusives, Technic and Architecture for the long haul.

May 18, 20169 yr Sold a Tumbler on Bricklink for £220. After paypal and brinklink fees I am left with £205 so a £45 profit (28%) for a 3 month hold isnt too bad for a first timer. I still have 2 left to sell later in the year.
May 18, 20169 yr I have only one Tumbler and it was the set that made me decide to put a hold on investing. Lone Ranger is long gone but now I think about it I still have some Ninjago. Meh, next xmas....

May 18, 20169 yr Sold a 10188 for £455 including postage, had an ebay promo that max final value fee was a £1 so not a bad earner. Only have one left now which actually makes me a bit sad, and I may just end up keeping for myself to build again in a year or so !

The Tumbler thread explains it well - too many people selling up just after retirement is bad news for those of us hoping for better and quicker price increases. Sets like these which are unlikely to be re released soon would have great potential if supply was restricted or at least the market perception is that they were rare. Certain people will argue here that the Lego reselling market is fracked, the reason being that there's a race to the bottom on profits. Posts like yours reinforce that argument. The Tumbler could be a set that by the end of next year is selling for double RRP, it won't be as long as people are happy to take 28% ROI, which on a large exclusive is a poor return.

Sets like these would have great potential if supply was restricted or at least the market perception is that they were rare. I fully understand that the set would have much better resale values if supply was restricted but the fact is it was sold for months after retirement and the market is saturated with them. My personal feeling is that it will probably increase in price to about £275 in the lead up to christmas and I will be keeping my other two for that happening.
May 18, 20169 yr If people keep occasionally selling one of their stash for circa £200 it will be more likely Christmas 2017 before prices start to get anywhere near interesting.
May 18, 20169 yr Sold some complete sets I found in large lots: 8113 Tiger Assault, used, complete, no box or Ins.: $20 8980 Gresh, used, 99% complete, box and instr.: $17 (buy in $3.72)
