March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cri

Well I'm just going by the number of posts- about 14k in the buying thread versus 5k in the selling thread

First I think the buying thread gets more replies to posts from what I have seen.  Kind of like daily deals there is often more chatter about what to buy.

Second I think a lot of us have more free time when standing in line or wandering around looking for deals, when in buying mode.

Third oddities and great deals on buying seems more common than selling.  Given that probably 90% + of all sales are ebay or amazon there is not as much variation.

As for buying vs selling I think very few have done more selling than buying anyway, since building up inventory takes quite a bit of time, and profits often get rolled back in.

So more chatter but also likely more buying....

So this is a weird question perhaps or an observation... Seems to be a whole lot more posts about what Lego set was bought, and significantly less about what is sold. Seems that the majority of us are buying a whole lot more often than selling. Mods feel free to move this to the bubble thread of more appropriate.

It sounds strange but i think a few people think they make money when they buy.

I feel more empowered when bragging about buying a $40 set for $10.  Not so much for the fact that I am only making less than $2 profit (after fess, gas, etc) when selling the said item. :drag:

79003 Unexpected Gathering for $80 off of Craigslist  (and yes buying is often much more fun to brag about!!!)

But selling is where the money is

Made a deal with my wife that Lego profits from 2016 go into the vacation fund.  Today is the first deposit.

This week in FBA:

LOTR Wizard Battle - $28.50

Gold Getaway - $34

Ninjago Warrior Bike - $35

Police Prisoner Transport 7286 - $40

Empire State Building - $44

Mirkwood Elf Army - $44

Shredder Dragon Bike - $50

Vulture Droid 75041 - $55

Uruk-hai Army - $73

Rancor Pit - $113

Batcave 6860 - $126

60061 Fire Truck - 65.99
75012 Barc Speeder - 89.94

- Side Note: I sold about 10 of these prior to Christmas around $80-85. This has been my best buy since deloreans.

2x Lego Duplo Big Box Black Friday. $74 Amazon FBA. Should have not passed so many up while looking for big yellow one.

200x red carpets $1.60 each

Bulk lot? I cannot believe you made any money selling them individually for that price, but if you did, kudos (and if you wish to divulge, I'm interested in hearing how you did it)

Bulk lot, 0.39 each buy in + red card wiped out taxes. $240 in pocket before fees (shipping is not included). Will clear $200 for basically no work and less than a week hold time

There should be a really, really like button for sales like this, sir I salute you

You can make money selling polybags 1 at a time, I started a thread about my war story with the decorating the tree polybag. I only do 1 at a time now if the kids are listing/shipping them

Yes I can see how you make money on the bulk lot, I was wondering how you make money at that price individually. Now if you can shift them at $7-$9 each with a $0.39 buy in, individually, then again I see how money is made.

All my local targets are showing them back at $3.99

Some had gone down to $120 but no longer

They will show up at $3.99 using the target tracker, actual price depends on % off Christmas

Amazon or Ebay?

Amazon, and that was at or near the lowest available price
