Shave them before you show them. Nothing is worse...

Just because wacky backy is legal in the US, no need to prove it. :)

Not really a sale.

I just broke even on my investments. All I have left in my inventory is now paid for by selling lego the last 3 years.

I did the same 6 months ago. I sold most of my (bought way too early) hangers-on like...

Tower Bridges

Simpsons Houses (To NEVER buy again!)

VW Campers

F40s

Mini Coopers

Technic Unimogs

LOTR Pirate Ambush Ships (not reached RRP yet - dire performer!)

... at an average of 10% above break-even to make space for better performers and proper bargains. However, I will re-buy some of these that are still available now that deals are better and the boxes are newer.

By this time next year, I should've replaced all my old TBs and T1s with those in newer boxes. I no longer buy anything unless EOL is near or if it's a good quick flip.

Everything I bought from Tesco, JL, George, Amazon, eBay & LEGO Shop at Home recently is either retiring or a cracking deal ;-)

Green arrow $25 ebay (got 7 on 4x fun packs)

This is tanking hard, all sorts of lowballers out - I have seen $15.95 with free shipping ..... Sold one of mine for $30 on Wednesday before the lowballers came in.

Jerks

Couple of dolphin cruisers £80, buy in £30 this time last year Tesco.
Arctic Icebreaker £125, buy in £50 Argos November last year.

eBay incl. shipping with 50% fees.

1x used 41999 Technic Crawler for £250 cash.

Finished clearing out my Raptor Escapes on ebay, started at $105 and sold 8 and then the next 4 @ $110.  Sold 4 Arkham Asylums @ $230, only 1 left and I'll be happy to have those out of my life aside from one to build that was a bashed in box.

10x 10240 Red5 for £2000 cash.

Performance has been dreadful (peanuts after fees) for such a superb set and my money is better invested in other sets. This is one of the reasons why I now ignore UCS Star Wars as, if this is anything to go by, the Ewok Village and Sandcrawler will be total turkeys unless bought at a large discount which is unlikely. Or... held for 5-10 years!

Where were you in January? They were selling like turds off a shovel and the ebay price was up to almos 2 x RRP in the UK.

I missed the peak selling window so I got rid before they dropped further, I only paid £99.99 for each one so already made 2x. There's just too many of these in the wild to compete so I'm cashing them in now. We're now in an era of superb retailer offers and that is where my funds are better spent.

I have another 10x 10240 if things pick up in January. If not, I'll undercut everybody as they now owe me nothing. I've made a lot more money and saved a lot more time this year by shifting volume at a lower price.

Speaking of which.. Just sold a RE for 149.50 on Amazon

Yeah, wish ebay had the prices Amazon had, but locked out and never got around to selling on that platform.  Not sure what the fee difference is, but I'm assuming you're way out ahead of ebay sellers.

I have a few left... Do you think this stays above $20 long term? I don't see this going above $30 after the widespread availability

If you lump it in with an advent or ornament or combination of all as a bundle, you'll get a better price.  I've unloaded more than a few of my advents this way.

I don't think you can say "widespread" availability - we're talking about 20 or so per GameStop location, and not yet confirmed if there were any online. Depending on how long you want to hold this, it might come up again and settle somewhere between $20 and $25 - unlikely to hit $30-$35 again as it was before BF.

That said - I went to a few different GS in my vicinity and got completely different outcomes: One gave me a *** without purchase (on BF), one had still 4 or 5 in a drawer on Saturday afternoon but required purchase of a LEGO dimensions set (I doubted about a $30 PS3 starter set but ultimately decided against it), and one said they were completely out. So there are still live ones out there - I'm going back to the one with the multiples in a couple of days to see if they have changed their minds on their policy :)
