The great thing about the Chess sets for me...if they don't sell well, they are great army builders!

Along that same line, I think the Pirates Chess has been quite popular for the Bricklink crowd. Some nice big plates and other parts that command decent resale prices individually. Plus all the figs. Pirates have been and likely always will be popular with kids. I think there's hope for it with the right strategy!

Thanks for the tip on the Pirate Chess set about parting it out and I do sell on Bricklink.  I will be at Lego store tomorrow for the big Disney Castle VIP pre-sale event and have a pirate set on hold (they are not out on the floor).  Was told by an employee they only have 20 castle sets and they will go fast.  Even the employees sound psyched!

100x 21110 Research Instututes for £2600 cash. An eBay buyer that I dealt with last month asked for an "outside-of-eBay" deal for cash on collection. I still have a dozen or so left.

  Sold my last 75049 Snowspeeder..$49.99 plus exact shipping every last one of them. (There is a hole in my heart right now but it will be filled by 75144) I can see 75049 hitting $75, but I had to sell something !!!  Paid $20 plus tax for a whole slew of em during winter WM clearance. It Is was them or my beloved 41054 Rapunzel Towers that I paid $19 for.. (They seem to be climbing faster than the speeders) You guys see these hitting $90-$100 by Christmas?

I sold a 41054 FBA for $61 two weeks ago (currently at $63).  It only takes 3 pages of sellers to get to $70 and 6 pages to get to $100, so it might be possible.  It is a much better set than the new one, but I'm not sure if it's $80 better.  I only have 4 more, so I'll probably send in 2 for this Christmas and hope for $90.

yeesh.  price really came down on these - i was getting $70 for them in March and April with shipping fees. 

 

maybe parting out  UCS AOH damaged the Snowspeeder aftermarket since the drop began around the time of the AOH release and the AOH snowspeeder is identical to 75049 vehicle.  one more thing that sucks about aoh.

Hopefully the holidays give it a little bounce.  I wish people got tax returns more than once a year.

LEGO plan to occupy the top 4 floors of this building and eventually move a lot of staff over from Billund. I understand that this is where they assemble and polish Ban Hammers! ;-)
