Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas.  I was just curious to hear how much legos everyone sold this Christmas.

As for myself, I didn't start my listings on ebay until Dec.2...believe it or not, from Dec. 2- 25, I sold over 40k! I maxed out my account, and had to start using my girlfriend's account. Ebay gave her an increase on what she can sell per month, from 25k to 75k, because they noticed her selling so much. lol  I sold mostly harry potter, friends, excavators, fire brigades..

   The reason for me selling so much this month, is because I'm raising money to bet on a UFC fight on Dec.28 (Chris Weidman)

I'm about 95% sure Chris will win the fight. Out of the 40k  I got from my lego sales, I reinvested 10k back into legos, and the rest... well, I'm putting on Chris. lol (about 35k, to be exact) The 35k should win me about 50k, so I would get back about 85k! I would then reinvest 50k, or more,  back into legos.  Sorry if i sound like I'm bragging about money or something, but I'm just super excited about this fight, and all the $$ I'm going to win.  I will be able to stock up on sets whenever I want, and won't be missing out on deals anymore, because of money issues...for awhile at least.   The most I've ever bet before this, is around 7k on Chris's last fight...that won me 18k.

I sold just over 20k worth, so a reasonable return. 

I am already planning my strategy for next Christmas.

Hahaha, before Christmas eve I had sold around $50, then suddenly from then till Christmas I sold around $500. Most likely not too much compared to a lot of you guys but I started this little business in September so I'm really happy

I had someone rock up at 9pm to collect one of the talking Minions. The woman was acting all wierd about it though, mucking around with times throughout the day. It wouldn't have bothered me if she didn't show up though. Considering this was for her kid's Christmas present and she hadn't gotten him anything yet, it really was cutting it fine considering we hadn't confirmed an evening pickup time.

I've got two points :

1) I'm impressed with these numbers. Is this a full time job for you?

2) I would also love if Silva gets cocky and gets knocked out by Weidman like it happened in the last fight. However, if Silva is fighting intelligently, you could very well loose all this money you're betting on Weidman!

Thats a huge return, my sets havent reached the stage to be sold so hopefully next Xmas will be more fruitful. Good luck with the bet, MMA isn't big in England at all so i have no idea how likely you are to win but good luck 

What are the odds on that fight, and where do you place your bet?  Silva might step into the cage with a different mindset this time, no dropping his hands and no clowning.  We'll find out tonight!

Man, I'm nervous for you! I limit my betting to texas hold 'em, where I feel like I have at least some control over it.

I managed roughly $4000 or so in total sales, from ebay to kijiji (Canadian Craigslist) and a few to friends of friends who know I have some harder to find sets.  I'm pretty pleased.  Reinvested about half and used the other half to reserve a lot for out new house.  Lego Power!

Wow, that was good but not as good as my sales of:

 

 

I sold about $8-10k in Nov & Dec. I'm pretty happy. Still got plenty of stock left though so it could have been better.

About 2k, all of which was used lego and flips (thank you funhouse and friends!) as my other sets haven't 'matured' yet

From Oct-Dec I did about $4k. Not bad considering last year was my year in LEGOS and I did about $1.5k. Once I get the hang of which sets to buy during the year to flip around Christmas I am hoping for $10k next year. The site and everyone's post have been very helpful to me. I only sell on eBay.

Obviously you're going to do what you want with your money, but to GAMBLE that much money on a fight, when lego investing has almost assured returns I can't really understand. Why not just put it all back into lego than actually risking it on a fight?

no, legos is a side thing. thx for the warning about losing all the money..I'm well aware of that lol After weighing the risks to reward, its well worth the risk, IMO.  Chris dominated the whole fight, incase nobody noticed. Nothing's gonna change this fight, except I know it will be a little tougher. Chris is #1 wrestler in all of ufc...which goes a very long way

I drove down 4 hrs to Reno NV to do my betting.  I'm gonna do a bunch of  3k bets with my friends help.
