I haven't read too many positive comments about the x-men set.  Looks like lego dropped the ball.  I hope the retail price is wrong too. $50 is way too much for this set.

I haven't read the thread yet, so I don't know what all has been stated. But since the New York Toy Fair's photos have been released, you can see there's at least one X-Men set being released. As for the Professor X mansion of which you speak, there is a LEGO Cussoo project that has garnered almost 6,000 supporters. It is highly accurate and detailed (as far as I know, but I don't read that many Marvel comics, go DC!), and is a huge set. There is a similar Wayne Manor/Batcave for any one who is interested. Go support it, all y'all!
