May 7, 201312 yr I scored two of these at a local Walmart for $25.00, and at another nearby Walmart I cleaned out five more at $20.00 a box. I'm now sitting on 7 boxes that are impossible to not make money on, even if this turns out to be a dud (which I don't think will happen). The funny part is the Walmart closest to me in my own town has a full rack of them, coated in fine dust because they are STILL at full retail.
May 7, 201312 yr My local walmart still has these. They are on clearance for 59.97... I feel you pain with this one. There are tons of leftover LotR sets around here (except for Helm's Deep) and they are all retail still.
May 7, 201312 yr You might want to buy them anyways^ or talk to a manager about possible discounts! I'm pretty confident they will go on clearance very soon now, along with the other first line LOTR sets. My home store just seems very sluggish compared to others nearby.
May 7, 201312 yr Yout can still find these sets below retail on ebay.... Does this mean a dud? I don't think so. It was just retired but it is still found on several different places so it will take a while for the price to actually start going up.
May 8, 201312 yr Most ToysRus are is are still selling these for $65 Agreed. I picked up two on two seperate days last week (for a total of four) at TRU with their "$20 off a Lego purchase of $100 or more" in-store promotion. So it knocked the per unit price down to $55 each before tax. Not too sure about this one. Four is enough for me.
September 18, 201312 yr Was at my local lego store yesterday and these were listed on sale at about $10 off. In my experience, anytime the lego store has something on sale, it's done. Glad I picked up 10 a while back for $35 each. Might be able to make some coin by Christmas. I also saw the Star Wars Old Republic battle pack and the Droideka battle pack on sale as well.
September 18, 201312 yr It's been marked as 'Retired' for a while no? Maybe it's different in Canada... http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Attack-on-Weathertop-9472
September 18, 201312 yr 575 in stock on Amazon UK although the price is significantly higher than before
September 18, 201312 yr For some reason, I thought it was common knowledge that this one was heading out. Or maybe I was just hoping. Anyways, I'd try to grab as many as possible. Already listed as a retired product on LEGO Shop at Home USA. Even at MSRP, it will be a steal when it starts to appreciate, along with quite a few LoTR and Hobbit sets.
September 18, 201312 yr Weathertop has been retired for a couple months now, so any price you can get it at is probably worth doing. Most Walmarts that have it in stock are selling it for $40.
September 18, 201312 yr Been retired almost 9 months here in the US, either canada still sells them or more than likely they just came across some in a warehouse or someone returned them.
September 18, 201312 yr Just an FYI - you will be able to get these from TRU for 41.75$ if you have the card this weekend. Also, if you have the card, you get 4% back in gift cards
September 18, 201312 yr I saw some at a local drug store, full price at like $75-80 or whatever the retail it is in Canada. :S
September 18, 201312 yr Yup, it went from the UK in June -ish. Apart from Amazon UK who seems to have purchased the entire country's stock and is selling it at different prices every hour.
September 18, 201312 yr This set has been on pretty much all store shelves here in Toronto since it first came out until only the past month or so when I started seeing it on clearance - I got my 9 sets at Target for half off. But this is the first time I've seen it for sale at an actual lego store.
September 19, 201312 yr Great price for Canadians too. It's essentially 50% off our retail price. I believe it's $95.19 after tax here, and from Amazon UK at this price is $45. I bought 2 and was charged an import fee of $19.33, but that still ends up being cheaper.
September 19, 201312 yr Sorry guys, I couldn't stand the suspense anymore and bought what was left! I did say be quick! ;-)
