If I wait long enough, someone always posts what I wanted to say but more eloquently. Thanks for that.

At some point older sets--while still selling--just don't bring the volume of sales that something new would. Consumer fatigue, investor fatigue... it's like saying "The Sorcerer's Stone was a great book and sold well, so why did JK Rowling write six more?" Because consumers--especially fans--expect something new. A new book to read, a new set to build... books and Lego sets are different, sure, but the analogy is there

That was pretty eloquent.

And that's the key. As long as you follow an strategy with the sets you like (say, I'll buy 5 TOO by the time it reaches 2 years on the shelves or whatever), retirement talk shouldn't matter too much.

  •   Here for all to see...

  • Look at what received the Architecture treatment.

Well keep scooping them up and we will see I guess.

It's already marked as retired everywhere except in the US. The quick sellout points more to the fact that its a very small restock rather than to it being super popular.

OK, good luck. I feel like this eol conversation has been going on for over a year on this set. So I guess eventually someone will be right.

This set will do well once it finally is done from the US LEGO Shop at Home, no doubt! In with the new and out with the old (old box version :p)

I thought this has been sold out for a while now at SAH, no?

is this for real? I'm at work and I don't want to get my hopes up . Lol

Probably no. The pic is from 2012...

Just got a shipment from SAH that I placed a week or two ago when this briefly blipped into stock. 27R5 seal code.

Oops - that was my Amazon order, not SAH

Meanwhile, in Europe they are now touching the 300 euro mark and have already passes that in the UK.

To put that in context, 10225 RRP 5% less, has taken 10 months to get to the same prices.

Yeah, but after fees and shipping there is no skin left on the sausage.

True, but it has only been 2 months since EOL. Let´s see how meaty the black sausage is compared to the white sausage same time next year.

And then they say burned charred meat is bad for you. Bring on these burned sausages!
