My local Walmart still has 8 of these @140 + 5.5% sales tax. Boxes pretty beat up. Just can't bring myself to buy.

Talk to a manager. They are authorized to lower the price if they want to get rid of them bad enough

Wow there WAS a ton of eBay $199.99 for sale right above my $199.95 and they are all gone.

its now $215-225 range.

Hmmm....

Here we have moved up from 120 euros a month ago to reach RRP of 160 euros including shipping but recent sales are stuck there. I don

My walmart has had a clearance rack with the same ninja turtle and Ninjago sets at the same lousy discount since JULY. They won't budge an inch.

Crazy. I have gotten discounts a number of times at Walmart. Last time was the Unexpected Gatherings just a month ago. I got the toy manager over there and asked him how much the clearly marked sets were. He said $49. I sighed and said they were old and I figured they would have gone down by now. He said $35 and I said sold.

I could be wrong, but I get the feeling if a manager there says they can't do something for you, they are lying because they don't want to help you or are lazy or they are just ignorant of the rules. I doubt they would do it for me and risk their jobs if it was against corporate policy. But who knows, maybe it was Stan Kroenke's son.

That's kind of my assumption, but you'll never get help if you are not cordial and just go on about your day.

Just sold two on ebay for $199.95 each including Priority Mail shipping.

Picked these up from Amazon earlier this year for about $78 each.

Have two more that I am going to hold.

Raise your prices folks!

I know, my $220 isnt getting any looks with all the lowballers popping up

I thought about pricing them at $220, but I decided that I really did want to sell them.  Now.  Listing them at the same price as 100 other people is not a good strategy if you really want to sell something with any urgency.  Maybe you have more patience.

My expectations were not very high on this one, and I bought in only because of some deep discounts.

The majority here, without doubt, was pretty down on this set.  Out too long, too many versions, new version likely coming out, blah blah blah.  It's funny how opinion can flip in a hurry once something appears EOL.

I do think it will go higher as Christmas approaches, and it will hold into next year.  Long term, not sure.

If I can turn a millennium falcon into a Tower Bridge, I will consider that a nice little investment upgrade and call it a day!

Maybe try free shipping? I had mine at $210 this morning. no biters. set it to $235 with free shipping and it was gone 21 minutes later.

Bingo.  I have been picking up a lot of near-EOL exclusives (with double points and freebie sets), and the proceeds from these Falcons are helping fund them.

+1 for this. I sold one at 220 inc free shipping earlier today

Stoked that I picked up 4 of these from TRU last week.

Now if only I could turn my Vampyre Castles and Helms Deep into 7965's.

So is the consensus that if we see these in the wild they are a buy even at RRP? I've seen several on shelves at WM's nearby, I've passed hoping they will last until the post-Christmas clearance - but I'm starting to think it's not safe to wait. Whaddya think?

I would buy at full price at this point, though obviously you're going to need to be satisfied with less of a profit margin.  But there's no way this set won't appreciate in value.  Like I said in an earlier post, it's the last classic Falcon set that they'll make for a really, really long time.
