Anybody's best guess on whether this set is closing shop or going to come roaring back post-holiday stock shortages? The reason I ask is I have the opportunity to pick up one (making my grand total two...I am a small fish) for 20 under retail, but would rather invest elsewhere if this is going to turn out to be a DS type product.

My opinion:

 

1. the set is done. Lego just underestimated (again) the F5-community so stock dries up fast.

2. a new set may or may not come. I say 70/30%.

3. I have 4 of these and will sell half when it hits 200 euro here. The other two are for the keeps. One long-term investment and the other maybe to build.

Yeah, I am thinking keep both long-term. I can't see this set going any longer with the new movies coming out. I think DS is the one exception, but classic should be on the way out.

I still have 8 and can get more if need be. Price has topped out a 150 euros here so I will sell the cheapest ones now and keep the rest at a higher price point until all the cheaper vendors have sold theirs.

An interesting and well put viewpoint. Are you 100% sure that none of the sold out exclusives will return, however briefly? Wouldn't be nice to be holding a big stack of the one that does, should it happen

So, as is predictable on the last shipping week before our gift giving day. the latecomers are going into full retard panic mode when they realice they have left it too late to get little Johnny a MF. I was overly conservative about this and I am now sure that the last person to blink is going to pay more than 200 euros for one.

 

What a great flip investment this was and I can only imagine the values this could reach next Christmas if another one is not released.

I'm trying to figure out why some refuse to believe a new MF is coming out to accompany the new movie. Denial much?
