But the profits will likely not be very quick. Hundred to thousands of these sets will suddenly hit ebay after they are purchased at a discount. Whatever the going price was before the discount will no longer hold. Depending on the set, it could take a while before a worthwhile profit can be made.

Season 2 looks like the setting will not be in Chima.  For the late comers, they'll rewatch season 1 and will want the older toys.  I think it's a good time to accumulate whenever there's a sale and unload at the DVD release.  

Another one to look at is the Lion Chi Temple. Those have been selling like hotcakes in my area and are all sold out.

Same can be said in my area. TRU and Lego store sold out of all the Chi Temples.

Any thoughts on 70003 Eris' Eagle? I can grab these 50% off at Target Canada right now. I'm not much into Chima but I've been keeping an eye open for discounts on the big sets. This one was beneath my notice until it went on sale to be honest.

Could be - it was released in January last year so it probably has another year before EOL.

Never said I thought it would do well. And I know Chi temple, Croc swamp etc are the best bets. Just polling the boardees if Eagle is worth the effort of getting at HALF price. Most LEGO sets are worth the risk at 50% off if you have the money to park.

Unless somebody can think of some more questions to add, I believe that is it.

My favorite tribe is the one that kicked out the Johnny Depp Tonto for looking like a freak and ruining the Lone Ranger movie. As for Chima, I like the Skunk cuz he passes gas a lot.

The Gorilla tribe is my favorite and I love Gorzan's Gorilla Striker. Best minifigure is the new spider fig. Best Speedor set is Furty because of the fig.

Agree. Total flop. Had a lego sales rep tell me that.

Might be one or two sets, especially first wave, that have some potential.  I'm not seeing Ninjago-type gains at this point.  Read DNIIM's blog post - he's a little more into it than some, although there are dissenting opinions.

 

Plus they are pretty much the only sets still on the shelves in any great number where I'm at...
