I can see Lego prices in general increasing in the future, just from the the increase in oil prices. They are made of Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic, which is made from oil. Production of 1 kg of ABS requires the equivalent of about 2 kg of oil (raw material and energy). So any substantial oil price increase from future Middle East conflicts and the like can have a serious effect on Lego prices. The Lego bricks you have will become even more valuable if cruise missiles fly into Iran, so buy them while they are still reasonable. What do you think?

Slightly...Companies always come up with good excuses to raise prices or charge a lot for some plastic in the case of Lego.

Legos have always been expensive. I can see an increase in prices, but Lego is good at hiding them. Have you noticed the smaller sets in general? Maybe in response to the world wide recession.

Lego bricks are fantastic toys and well made, but they have always been expensive. I can't see them going down in price. ;-(
