I managed to nah two GBH, 11SC, and some other ones here and there....
Myer sale is now on, and i was able to use my egiftcards to buy myer cards so its 8% at myer now for me

Grab the Slave then mate. May be a while before they go but the Slave is such an excellent set to build and display it will always be in demand.

hopefully they get to the $900-$1000 price range fairly quickly after retirement, supply has been extremely limited with BigW.

Good work converting the egiftcards to Myer cards that's a smart move getting an extra 8% on top of any Myer sale and Myer gift cards last for 2 years.

Any cash left or all gift cards?  Ewok village is still available from LEGO and I think the limit is now 5. When this goes I reckon it's going to jump quick. So many minifigs and people lurves them minifigs. Red 5 can also be had for under $400 on eBay . Sounds a lot now but in a years time when they are twice that it will look different. And being retired already, you don't have to wonder  WHEN IS THIS THING       RETIRING???  

Anyway, just my thoughts.

i have managed to stay away from all the crazy sales over the last week.

i should have planned to move earlier in the year rather than now hahaha.

i'm dying, friends :'(

I hit 4 stores.
First store said they had 1 limit per person. (Riverton)
2nd store said they had a two limit per person. (livingston)
3rd store didnt have much stock but didn't claim a so called limit.
4th store i organised with someone over the phone prior to the sale to hold some for me. She was really nice and knew i was annoyed because i explained she was the 4th store i had to call to get ANY information about stock levels (All the staff at bigW are like old ladies with no idea how to use the stock inventory system most likely). And her and her manager agreed to hold 6 out of 8.
She was on break when i got there but someone else got them for me out of the managers room and said there was only 5.

But here is something new......
I forgot My friends mum works at myer.
They get 15% off toys.
Stacked that 8% off and got me  3x slaves at  roughly $224ea.
Also the friends heartlake grand hotel for $130ea.
None of these were in stock at her store so they had to order it delivered to her house. It looks like very limited supply of this???? Any chance they would keep it in the original lego cardboard brown box if they do this?

I have $1.5k left in unspent bigw gift cards, but i'm considering converting them all to Myer and seeing if my friend's mum would do the same again and ill just order all slaves. So i have health inventory of SW SC and Slave, go on my one-way ticket holiday, come back in roughly a few months before my 0% p.a balance transfer runs out, and start selling some off on my ebay store.

Even though your plan could go horribly **** up, I hope when you come back ,it works out for ya mate. It's a brave move borrowing so much to invest and even tho I'd never sleep again if I did it, I like your optimism.

From experience a better than average chance they will be in the original lego brown boxes.

Normally new technic sets will come out september / october. Some even as late as November before we see it in the WA store. I wonder whether that Bucket Loader is a Big W exclusive or....could not be a TRU exclusive as i don't remember TRU being excited about a flagship set.

Yup agreed. Just wondering when is the next time they have a discount on their gift cards. 10% on the cards will be hard to come by sometimes.

Next time I see big w discount cards I'll chuck it up here. They have 5% through cash rewards still I think at the moment, but 5% is not much to get excited about.

Im looking to (unfortunately) offload some sets and have some large ones. How are people posting large sets? I have always had trouble getting large cardboard boxes...

I now get all my boxes free and it's quite simple really...

I call up local IT companies or companies that use IT and I simply ask them if I can have their leftover laptop and wide screen monitor boxes. The larger boxes are often double-walled and a bit of "creativity" with a sharp knife will make a modular building or other large set for example fit perfectly in the foam inserts. The small/medium boxes are also a good size and can be easily trimmed down for a good fit and to be within post office price brackets (the UK are anal on parcel sizes). I then buy 100m of big bubble-wrap at a time from Amazon along with Scotch(3M) tape, any cheaper tape if often a false economy.

Most companies are glad to get rid of the boxes as it saves on disposal costs.

Take it from me, a laptop or monitor box is far far better then anythng yo buy from a packagin company. Give it a go! ;-)

Awesome thanks mate. I'm lucky enough to work somewhere that gets a lot of deliveries and always try to HIDE and keep as much packaging stuff I think I can reuse. A laptop or monitor box would be perfect though ;-)
