As I said, if you get the e-gift cards from cash rewards , they are currently at 8% off, so you could get the GBHQ for about $437.

Lay-buyed the Hellicarrier at BigW last night using 10% off gift cards. Waiting for the sale now :-)

where did you find the 10% gift cards?

I got the gift cards earlier in the year for such an occasion (March maybe?). Have some Cashrewards gift cards left but the last offer has ended. Might need to use the gift cards I have left to lay buy a SC and wait for another gift card offer!

The Big W employee said they were expecting more Firehouses when the new GB movie comes out - only had 1 at present.

Just noticed the limits have increased on the LEGO Shop at Home Aussie store.  All the exclusives used to be limit 1 and are now 5 (edit: ok maybe except the really new ones AoH and the Village). Any Aussies been banhammered from LEGO Shop at Home from over ordering does anyone know?

There hasn't been a confirmed case of an Australian being banned, although there were a number of Europeans banned in the last 12 months and you would think we come under the same purchase limitations as them.

 

In other news, both Amazon UK and TRU US no longer ship to Australia, which is a big loss.

Even when the limit was one , I rang them and could order 2  exclusives over the phone no dramas.

Getting banned would be a disaster tho.

Bans won't happen until they bring over their flagship store.

Good to know. I'd have thought it makes sense they wouldn't do anything until they had a flagship store in Aus and even then you'd think they'd want one in each of the bigger state capitals. 

Not something I want to test out too much though. 

BigW cards are off Cashrewards but you can still use the Woolworths cards at BigW for 5.5% off.

Yeh they pulled the big w cards just as I was gonna buy some.  Big w still not even stocking the exclusives yet in WA , so no big deal. With a few VIPs I got and the VIPs earned almost just as good buying direct from LEGO anyway.

If I see anything now, I'll throw it on lay-by then purchase the GCs.

How have you been burnt by GCs? You mean by stores going out of business or declaring the GC value to be zero? If so I'd have thought you'd be as safe as possible with BigW. Can hardly see Woolworths pulling anything like that any time soon.

Gift cards have no refunds so if the thing you wanted to buy is no longer available your stuck with it.

each to his own i guess. I found the big w gift cards quite useful and a saving too. If the set i want doesn't appear, at least the GC will still be useful up to a year.....i am sure to buy something from Big W before it expire.

Big W typically keep the bigger sets out the back off the floor. May be best to ask in store

Gift cards sure are useful when you can get GBHQ for a touch over $406

To those searching for GBHQ they should be out back of most stores round the country by now, but some stores are refusing to sell before the sale.

Keep trying a few different stores and you should hit a store with stock and staff willing to sell it.
