Halfway through August 1st and I’m not seeing any promotions on LEGO Shop at Home. Am I looking at the wrong calendar or is LEGO just being LEGO?

I just got another $0 list and FVF offer from today till the 5th Aug, its almost a once a month guaranteed thing at this point.

Lucky you. Last FVF offer I actually got  wasn’t targeted and was the only one I’d received for at least 6 months.

Big W. Just got the Ghostbusters fire house for $199. That and helicarrier (and I presume others) on heavy discount as well. It was not on shelves but "out the back" I had to ask the entertainment gut about the sets. He didnt know they were heavily discounted. Guy who scanned it couldn't believe the price. This is now 4 Big W's that I'm aware of having the big lego "out the back" on heavy discount. It hasn't been advertised, you have to ask what they have "out the back" and cross your fingers.

Yeh it’s there. Looked at my local yesterday- no deal. Interestingly , the 20% off deal which was to start today had already begun instore.

I made off with a kings ransom of 2 squashed pteranodon captures for $20 each.  Still not sure why...... ?

$79 Star Destroyers at BIG W if you can actually find one.(SD , not Big W).

I just called my local and got them to put a firehouse aside for me. What a bargain!

Jungle drop 60162 is also on clearance. $99 down from $198. Retirement imminent too.

Well looks like i all the Jungle Drops were gone to the two Big Ws I went to. Last night I called another store and got them to put aside another Firehouse.

 

I picked em both up and they both are a bit shelf worn. No holes in the boxes but they definitely aren't for the fussy box collector.

 

One of the Big Dubs called me this morning. to see if I was still buying the set today. Then in store she said the person on the phone last night shouldn't have honored my phone hold. She then berated me and said that "we could've sold this ten times over today". I was perplexed as to why she would care. I said "Well, you are getting your money now." Who knows, maybe Big Dub are so cash strapped they needed that two hundred bucks yesterday.

Like the Jungle Drop set but the box is huge. Postage from deepest darkest WA would be pricey, so I left them.

Yea right. I never noticed it. I don't buy many larger City sets

But the boxes on the Firehouses are good enough to keep em boxed. The seals are good too.  I'd be mad not to keep one for myself. I am def a fan of the film but never considered the set due to price.

Yesterday I also picked up 3 X 70632 Quake Mech (Ninjago) for $69 (Lego price $160) each from local Target. They were high up on top shelf with yellow discount ticket, covered in dust. Not sure if a local store price or not, maybe worth doing price check if you come across in Target. Large box is my only concern for resale but huge discount = win. 

Im having a good week, I also came across a series 18 minfigures box at supermarket with 3 figures left and 1 of those was the policeman! Mind you I probably felt my way through 20+ boxes over the last month without success looking for the cop.

Resistance Bomber 75188  down to $99 ($180) at Big W. I got the star Destroyer for $99, thank you for the tip Furious G (normally $230, they wouldn't take a further %20 off for me). 

Not much out our way, need to be in a low socioeconomic area, those are gold mines
