SYDNEY (Reuters) - Global e-commerce juggernaut Amazon.com Inc on Thursday said it will open its online shopfront service in Australia, ending rumors about its plans and increasing the pressure on the domestic retail sector to catch up with the digital economy.

Have other people noticed a bump in sales post-Easter? I've moved 4 sets in as many days (I only have a handful of listings), where I'd be lucky to do that in 2-3 weeks typically.

Yep I have had a noticeable pickup in March and April. Credit card blues (bills) must be receding?

Interesting times ahead. Will have to read up on the Amazon threads in the coming months.

Can anyone who lives near the LEGO store in Brisbane , tell me if the new r3m2 is in store and being given out?

I live in Brisbane,  but the Lego shop is at the Gold Coast....like 65-75km away. In fact I'm still yet to visit it.

These exclusives will definitely make me go broke, :(. The R2D2 looks bigger and better though than this one.

Yep, sorry should have said Gold Coast. It's at Dreamworld right?

I haven't gone to woolies to check. Are there any good ones worth getting ?

Not a fan of Nexo but i can see that the horse thingy of Nexo seems good for parts?

30352 City Police Car

30338 Junior Fire Car

30377 Nexo Knights Motor Horse

30426 Ninjago Steathy Swamp Boat

30400 Friends Gymnastics Bar

I'll only be seeking out the Ninjago set at full price.

Star Wars Encounter on Jakku 75148 is discounted to $55 at Big W.

My local has had at least 20 on the shelves all week - doesn't seem like much love for this set.

Shopforme is clearing them out at $45 as of today, too. Certainly not moving many I think!

Yep, if it gets to $35 at big dub, i'll grab a couple and hold probably for a couple of years

Well still no noticeable movement in the number of Encounter on Jakku 75148 sets available at my local Big W.

I see it has disappeared from the Big W website, will have to watch out in store to see what the next discounted price will be.

Anyone else feeling underwhelmed by the current half yearly sales?

Yeh , local shop sales have been a little grim. Prices are reasonable, it's just the selection is a bit stale.

Regular eBay 15% deals been ok though.  Been buying the harder to find sets at pretty good discount, as the eBay codes work on worldwide purchases. Biggest gamble is, will my set survive a month in the mail?

Hahaha Im waiting on a parcel from Czech Republic, found out today it has been sent sea mail and will take three more months to arrive.

Yeah apart from that the new LEGO Sets are getting more and more expensive e.g new Death Star is $800 which is a bit ridiculous I reckon.

For those who like brickheadz perhaps check out your local toyworld. or ...Lego LEGO Shop at Home it is.

The increased eBay selling fee (now 11%) has kicked in.

Pretty p$%s weak charging us GST on selling fees.

I only sell there these days if there is a FVF promo. Frustrates me they charge so much

Getting that way for me, nearly selling more on Facebook groups at the moment. But that has its own pain points.

I never get those damn promos.

Bloody ebay, eh? But it's the govt that rorts us out of the extra 1%.

Does this apply to paypal in any way?
