I really hate these type of arguments. FWIW, If I ever buy a Lepin CC, it will be for AFOL use only. To be honest I'm more worried about the plastic Easter eggs my wife bought from K mart for our toddler which smell like chemical ****. Border controls in this country are a joke. Quality checks are almost non-existent. Have you read about the asbestos panels (from China of course) in the new kindergarten in Aus? Or the bridges made of Chinese steel that are falling apart after less than three months? Lepin being potentially toxic is the least of our problems, trust me.
July 29, 20169 yr Hey guys. My name is Chris. I see that you have your own Aussie specific board here, so I thought I'd come say hi. I'm an American Army Officer in my everyday life. Back in 2003, I got to spend six glorious weeks doing an exchange program with the 6th Royal Australian Infantry Regiment (6RAR) based in Brisbane. Probably the 6 most fun filled weeks of my life. I've been back a couple times since then on Holiday. I always have a wonderful time. Absolutely beautiful country.

I think that is the first time I have ever heard that someone enjoyed their time with 6RAR, let alone the time of their life (I'm an Air Force Officer). You are more than welcome to come back, there are a lot of beautiful places in Australia that are worth investigating. In fact, we are planning a holiday over stateside towards the end of the year.

Ed, I agree with you, but I'll still refuse to buy the knock off Lego.
July 30, 20169 yr Can I ask why we're so sure one of these VIP sets will be the new DS? I only ask because it seems to make little sense in terms of timing. I imagine that it wouldn't be able to be like the previous 10188 if this was the release date, purely because of spoilers, if in fact it is intended to be from RO. I know there's already the rumor of a very specific imperial astromech droid being featured in the set (don't recall which sorry!), which to me suggests something more like a 10188 playset. Do you suppose it's just a literal re-hash of the previous one from earlier films, if in fact this will be the date of release? Or are people hoping for a more early construction stage UCS-type DS I, a-la RO?

May i draw everyone's attention to the Fake Lego forum topic here in Brickpicker as well.Someone mentioned that they bought the Lepin Cafe Corner for a comparison. Now this is not to promote Lepin or glorify what it is doing is the correct thing...morally or not. It is best for investors to know what they are up against the competition. I am not an investor so i take a back seat i guess. In the end it boils down to the consumer and their choice. It they want Real Lego they will buy it. If not....thats another story. But i do think Lepin is coming into Australia and that is going to impact to a certain extent the secondary market for some of us here.Haiz....i wish they don't come into Australia?
July 30, 20169 yr I'd say if your still hanging onto a 10179 for investment, sell it now. Only a matter of time before lepin make it( if they haven't already).
July 30, 20169 yr Bucket Wheel Excavator is showing as available to buy now from LEGO Shop at Home (Australian store) for those that were speculating about when it would come up. http://shop.lego.com/en-AU/Bucket-Wheel-Excavator-42055?fromListing=listing

Now.....how to convince myself this is a 1st day purchase...? That's the hard part, right? To buy now, or see what happens with the larger retailers where you can get a steeper discount. That at least applies to me for personal buying. I've held off on Big Ben and VW Beetle as I'm sure someone will stock 'em down here and will be able to get a better deal. Disney Castle may be a similar issue. My approach: am I likely to build it straight away? If no, I'll hold off buying.

I've already checked ebay Australia and there are only two listings each for Cafe Corner and Green Grocer, with both having a real one for sale and a fake. Bootleg seller is asking 250 for the knock offs. A bit steep since Ali Express can do them for 80. He doesn't have much competition that's for sure.
