I'm guessing the mid August VIP early release is going to be the Disney Castle given the Sep 1st date listed for everyone to buy from LEGO Shop at Home

Yeh right forgot about the castle. Oh well, I'll keep waiting.

Already did. To make matters worse, I found out I could check his sold listings history- sold over 15 in a week. I called eBay and they won't touch the guy for a MONTH until I have "proof" it didn't arrive. They won't suspend his account or anything in the mean time, only "monitor" it. They've assured me I'll get my money back if it doesn't come, which I already knew. So I gave him a spraying in an email and left negative feedback containing instructions for other prospective buyers. If any come up I'm gonna buy them again, and do the same thing. He only has 20 feedback so a single negative is a big hit. Hopefully it helps people get the message.

those photos on the cheap DS ad were definitely copied from another old ad.

i saw an ebay/gumtree ad with those exact photos ages ago with a "normal" DS price associated with the ad.

My first order from the Hut arrived today, shipped incredibly well. Received 2 separate boxes for the sets I ordered, really well padded and boxes in excellent condition. Of slight concern was the fact that the courier dropped them at my door, but overall +1 to the Hut for their shipping practices!

Looks good, I've only ever had a problem with Amazon once, everything else has been fine. Although, I did receive an email from The Hut today apologising for the length of time taken...

As did I, a few hours after I sent a complaint. Turns out they were selling without having the stock on hand, they're waiting on the supplier to process more orders

Typical. I didn't read the email, I was busy with Uni work.

Oh oh. I sense the dreaded" sorry, here's your dough back".

I sure hope not! They seemed to be pretty confident they would honour it. But hey, we'll see I guess!

They'll probably swings a voucher code or $$$ coupon if they do.

Hhmm I could handle that. Anything good left there? Last time I looked seemed all good stuff was gone.

On another note, RI still not shipping but almost everything else has.

trip update: am also spending some time in HK on the way back to break up the flight and combat jet lag.

a few people have said ins point on nathan road is the go to shop for lego in HK. works out well because I am staying on nathan road lol :D

has anyone else been there? from my research, it appears that they have a lot of retired sets however at RRP price. if i can fit some in my suitcase, i'll certainly consider picking up a couple as i'm not going to be buying any in denmark itself (prices are out of control lol).

I was in HK several times last year, though never had much time for looking (there for work). From the places I did see Lego, there was never any really compelling stuff that I could see, though I don't recall seeing any stand out places on Nathan Road. A lot of Lego knock-offs, though.

Lego is pretty big there, though. As seen at this exhibit that was on HK Island (at a shopping centre just south of Causeway Bay train station)...

Have a look at the September store calendar. VIP early release very well could be the Technic BWL AND the new Death Star.

Could be an expensive month. :)

I have a look at Lego LEGO Shop at Home and it shows the Volve EW, VW Beetle for 1st August but no sign of the Technic BWL and of course the ever so secret new Death Star. The castle is slated for 1st Sept. You could be eventually right in that the BWL could be a VIP early release thing, as i am starting to doubt myself here.

I'm going to be rich ;)

Sept VIP will be October sets.

yup...i thinking that maybe mid August...the BWE will be early VIP release? You thinking it will be mid Sept? Make no sense that TLG release the Volve set first but keep the other 2 for a month later release? some selling strategy?

I just got back from posting on the knockoff thread. Has anyone else noticed that Lepin modulars are starting to make an impact on the Aussie market? There's an already very large thread on a certain Aussie web forum about them. It truly seems to be dividing people. Scary stuff IMO.

Not seen the site myself but the two LEGO collectors at my work, when showed the lepin equivalent of the the sets they are wanting both said " no way, it's legit or its  nothing".

I don't think all is lost. maybe this might make authentic LEGO more desirable.
