Finally did some unboxing today...anyone else have a weird glitch with the recent promo where you tried to order 1 but ended up with a bunch? I'm guessing TLG has a fix for it...involving a hammer. &#

which would you pick though and why?

The GE is showing better signs of EOL so maybe that would your best bet. I personally like having at least 2 of one set son that I can build one but that's just me. Overall I think the better set is GE. Both are good though. If you can scrape together a few more bucks get one of each.

okay thx. Do you reckon the camper will be EOL this year I think 2015 but im not sure. And what sort of prices do you think the camper will fetch after EOL?

Hmm..with respect to the T1, I noticed my 2 local Toysrus don't have campers anymore on the shelfs and some large online toyshops don't sell them anymore online. I think that this camper may go EOL sooner than people think.

It makes sense that Camper is ready for the ol' retirement home now that Mr. Cooper has arrived in town.  I think Camper right now is like SSD in March - April.  So I wouldn't wait to buy it.  GE is in about the same spot (unless you believe the heretics who say PS will go first), so the answer to "which set to buy?" is "both!"  Camper however is significantly easier and cheaper to store and ship.  One camper looks to be 1/2 or less the overall volume as a GE.  So if space is at all a concern and you have to choose just one, go with the Camper.

There is generally more stock in stores of T1 than GE. I'd go for GE GE GE (in Europe)

Many investors, including myself, will be a little disappointed with this set after eol.

I'm not saying it's not a winner but just the duration of holding time will be its weakness.

I just think lots of investors have many of these stocked away, including myself.

Yeah no doubt this is a heavily stocked item among resellers, I have 72 and am aiming to have 100 by November. It could well jump to around double RRP within six months of EOL with it sitting around that price for a year or so while the flippers offload. Either way this is an iconic set and is destined for greatness.

How many had 72 FB going on to 100?

I'd imagine quite a few, however the UK eBay price hike during unavailability suggests that this set will get a healthy price spike after it retires.
