June 2, 201411 yr 75048: $25 for that ? Lol I am definately NOT the target audienceLook at a City set retailing for $20 yet a similar sized set in the realm of Star Wars is $25. It makes no sense but at least The Phantom features a slightly better amount of parts by comparison with the norm like the Vulture Droid from this year with only 203 parts, one minifigure, one battle droid, and a brick built droid thingy. Another thing The Phantom really doesn't look so good with the wings folded up like that instead of outwards as they should be.

City sets don't require lego to pay George Lucas err Disney licensing rights.
June 2, 201411 yr it makes perfect sense. City sets don't require lego to pay George Lucas err Disney licensing rights. In the long run the costs of licensing get dwarfed by the profits which can in part be due to the higher pricing but still any set from licensed themes can make it about as well as any other with matching retails. Heck, some may even sell better in the first place if the retail was better matched. It's the main reason why many of The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings sets lingered.

June 5, 201411 yr Anyone else underwhelmed by the cantina set? Its a step up from the old one but not by much IMO. This was their chance to knock it out of the park and it looks like they F-4ed it. (pardon the basebal scoring reference, Im just really into the baseball season right now).

(pardon the basebal scoring reference, Im just really into the baseball season right now). I'm digging it, especially the minifigs. I still plan on putting two of them together to make it more substantial, but I'll have to dig up some more aliens too. We need another Tusken Raider battle pack, bad.
June 5, 201411 yr I like the new cantina. I never had the first one so I'll take what I can get and I still think it's better.

It took pieces away from and/or drove the cost up of the cantina. I think there were three versions of the landspeeder before this one.

I think there were three versions of the landspeeder before this one. I'm glad that it's a more accurate version, however, it will be my third landspeeder, the one that came with the original cantina, 2010s version, and this version. But considering how I have so many, I lose a bit of interest in the set, but then again, it's only about 100 pieces, so... meh? It's definitely an update, one that focuses mainly on the Cantina, then the Dewback, and then the Landspeeder. You can always just buy multiples and sell off the extra Speeders or Dewbacks to enlarge your cantina aswell.
June 9, 201411 yr I'm in for a couple of Cantina's myself if for nothing else to get multiple dewbacks.
June 9, 201411 yr The cantina is about what I thought it was going to be. Not really display worthy, nothing unique to the build. People will buy this for the minifigs alone, and I think Lego knows this so they saved some time and money on the design of the set. I wonder if the cantina, duel on geonosis, and barrel escape all come from the same designer? They all have that hinged wall aspect to them.
June 9, 201411 yr The date in which I go backrupt. For realsies. Cantina and AT-AT are Day 1 buys for me, full retail.
June 10, 201411 yr Man, JangBricks certainly has a lot of these to review already. Mos Eisley Cantina Jedi Scout Fighter The Phantom The Ghost AT-AT Walker Imperial Star Destroyer
June 10, 201411 yr CapnRex101 of Brickset has posted a review on The Phantom. One curiosity to note, The Phantom is supposed to be able and connect with The Ghost somehow. Also the character of Erza Bridger dons a helmet that appears to be based on the original prototype design for the Snowtrooper one.

ETA: one of the pictures posted last week was of the back of the box and showed how the 2 could be combined
June 19, 201411 yr B-Wing StarfighterI like his videos. No fluff. Very clean, crisp, and bright video. Just to the point with honesty.Regarding the b-wing set, meh...yet another unneeded refresh in my opinion.
