Yeah I have no doubt this will be a good performer when production stops. It's got Batman and all his cronies, what fans not going to like this!

  • Penguin's Roller is also a nice vehicle that may be sought after just for being a nice vehicle.

  • Dunno what it has to do with AA but the best hope for TLBM sets is a short shelf life. Penguin´s roller is an exclusive so it could be one that does OK.

List means nothing. City Fire Truck may be in the top ten but doesn't mean it will sell higher than retail price at any point. AA will have no shortage of fans when it's gone and price will rise at a steady pace.

this was response to post a few pages ago that batman was Lego's best seller

it isn't. I did buy a AA this morning, I do not disagree with anything you say, I disagree that batman is a best seller

I just got excited to see AA available at toys r us online (hadn't seen that before).  Then I noticed the price of $199.99.  Ugh.

That is a new development...hopefully we see it "discounted" to MSRP soon so we can jump on it with gift cards.

Isn't this usual behaviour for Toys R Us USA to raise the price on a retired set or when rumoured to be ceasing production?

TRU in us is like crazy uncle - nobody knows what he will do next. Might pull the pants down any minute. What did discounts on PR and sandcrawler meant?

AA is available to order with shipping date on 9 dec in all EU countries that have the 15% discount but sold out in all others at rrp, thats really strange..

Discount now ended and status set to sold out

I am pretty sure they did this discount because they knew it was a slower seller in Europe so they wanted to clear out stock. It will sellout in US easy so me reason to discount. My 2 cents

I still couldn't make my mind up on the AA.  At first glance it's just an over-priced facade with no all round structure like a modular.  Then again, it does have great minifigs and is a very popular theme.  I was close to ordering one 15min ago just before it went back up to

this vs. the R2? what do you all think? I think AA has the better return over the next 3 years....

R2 will weewee all over this I think.

Its a toss up because R2 has SW XII. That will definitely help his growth but how much?

Both The R2 Droid and the Batman Ayslum will be big money makers, any Investor not getting these will regret it. I have 42 Droids and 35 AA and still buying them.

IMO both sets will do quite well. Both are from popular and collectible themes. I would like to have seen more exclusive minfigs and better play features in AA, and more rare and unique pieces used in R2, but they are what they are and both have some issues. Better than most of the alternatives.
