Just got back from Indianapolis (most weird city or weirdest city?)

Featured Replies

Had a wedding this weekend in Indy.  The city is very compact and clean.  There are many trendy stores, bars, and nightspots like theaters and concert halls.  The odd thing was that no one lives in the city and the streets were empty until after 6pm.  There are a few high-rises and office buildings, but nothing that is considered a condo or living complex.  My niece has an office downtown and lives in Carmel, but told me that downtown is pretty ghosttownish since no one actually lives there.

Anyway, they have a Lego Store, but we left before the rains hit and they were not open yet.  I live in/near Chicago and have lived in Boston and San Antonia, and Indianapolis is by far the strangest city I have seen.  Nice river walks, lots of places to go, but the people seem to all nocturnal and inside kinda people.

We plan on taking a trip down there again next summer, but will have to investigate some things to do where people actually are.

That is very interesting. I have never been to Indy before. When I think of a city, I think that there would be people outside during that day. That is very strange.

Any city that would get rid of Peyton Manning has to be weird.

For Andrew Luck.  It isn't like the got rid of him for some chump...

They are probably all at the colts game, or at home watching it.

This was Saturday, but there was a basketball game that night.  During the day, there is a round-a-bout or rotary drive, kinda like the one in European Vacation, that has lots of neat and trendy stores circling it.  We saw 2 shoppers at 1pm.  Went to the Colts Bar which is connected to the Embassy Suites...and it was only 1/2 full at gametime.  Very nice city, but empty.  I wonder if the lack of mass transportation has anything to do with it.

Sounds like heaven to me... Actually heaven is probably crowded...

The Lego Store was way on the outskirts of town.  Unwalkable from our position.
