What's the general consensus for this set as an investment? The Minifigures look quite good, though I'm not sure of their availability in other - cheaper - sets.

I was also going to bring this up.  There has been little to no discussion on it, but I think that it could be going under the radar, and with those exclusive figs, especially the 212th Trooper, I think that it will do well.

I just think it's a cool looking tank. I'll definitely pick one up if I see one on clearance.

Almost definitely the only set you will have Umbarrans in. I never followed the Clone Wars TV Series, so I know nothing about them, but doubtful that any more of them will be made, especially with the series leaving the air.

I just love the set. Everything about looks awesome. Still not sure how it will go investment wise

I personally like the #9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter. I think this is another one that flies under the radar

The polybag version of this from earlier this year sold like crazy.

Yeah never saw any polybags where I am. The Umbaran MHC is very cool I have a couple, but unsure how they will perform as they only appear in a couple of the Clone Wars cartoon series episodes.

Slightly off-topic, but how many sets have an Ashoka Tano minifig in them? This is only the 3rd one as far as I'm aware of, and the other two sets are retired.

Looks like the general consensus of internet geeks seems to be that she perished during "order 66". I'm not entirely convinced we won't hear more about her somehow in the new films. There's a couple other interesting theories floating around also. 

I always liked Ahsoka. The worst part is that the last story arc of the show made her character even more interesting, but we'll probably never know where she went from there.

I'm just now finishing up the tail-end of Clone Wars.  That lightsaber battle in "The Lawless" between Palpatine, Savage Oppress, and Darth Maul was fantastic.

She has actually came in 5 sets. (I excluded the 853037 Magnet Set Anakin, Senate Commando and Ahsoka

 since that isn't a set.)

75013 Umbaran MHC (2013 variant)

Technically the Ashoka Tano in the 75013 Umbaran MHC is a new variant of her so you could consider that a new minifigure.

At 35 bucks would these be a steal

30% is not too bad, but this set probably won't retire for another year and a half so you would be sitting on it for awhile if you want to invest long term with it. If you want to build it than I would buy it.

Great set, especially if you can find it at discount!

I think it hasn't been discounted very much, but then again, it came out only 6 months ago, so like Darth LEGO said, I would give it at least another year to go on sale.  We got time fo 'dis! For now, I think 30% off is the best you will get in the next 2 months though, unless you find a TRU BOGO where the 75013 isn't inflated...

 

EDIT: Scratch that. TRU doesn't carry 75013 for some reason. It is listed as "Hard to Find" on LEGO LEGO Shop at Home.

That's cause this set is a Target exclusive which means I for one will be looking forward to some good summer clearances in the coming weeks!

I found one tonight at my local target for 34.98.....went ahead and got it. I think it's a cool tank and the minifigs are great too

I think this set is really cool looking and it has 3 exclusive minifigs with a 4th that is an exclusive variant. Already a decent set to part out, but it is also a Target Exclusive. I think it could really be a good sleeper because of the minifigs.

 

What does everyone else think?

It is very cool built. Very stable and the launcher works well. The minifigures were pretty cool although I have no reference for whichever cartoon or movie they originated from. Did it ever have one of those display cases at target? If not I could definitely see it going under the radar being placed right above the larger sets an all.
