I honestly don't see why people are so up in arms about this.

 

They said when they were casting that they wanted an older, rugged, established Batman. And they backed the Tumbler full of cash up to Christian Bale's house and he turned them down. They obviously were looking for a big name, and there aren't a whole lot of names bigger than Affleck that fit the part.

 

Who do you want instead, Will Smith? Brad Pitt? Tom Cruise?
