you should be charging $2 per poly.

firstclass is $1.94 across the board. (2oz)

If you charge "calculated shipping" your buyer will pay less and then you'll pay more due to +$ for tracking. (Not a big deal for promo or after holiday polys)

yes you should be printing your labels through ebay. You can also print on paper at home and use free pouch at post office.

They're addictive when they get cheap enough. Do I need 30 Target pollys at 75% off? No. Do I want them? No. Yet, somehow, I wind up with 90 of them, every time.

  • Cool little set. Buy it up quick before they correct the accessory included

Better yet, order the free pouches online and avoid going to the post office at all!

Do you have a link for that?

Ugh, I'm not going to admit how many polys I shipped manually at the post office.  Never thought to enter the 2 oz weight.

I usually take these to the post office and pay 2.32.

Is there a way to print the labels through ebay at that cost or cheaper? Thanks.

there is somewhat obscure (but working) way to ship stuff using ebay discounted rates (USPS and UPS) via Paypal, even if you did not sell something via eBay (say, bricklink). I don't know if they are going to keep this interface after eBay and PayPal separation

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now

there is also "bulk ship" command, but i did not use that one

I thought all of the USPS free supplies were Priority class, only. Do you have an item number for the pouch you use?

First class is $1.93 up to 3 oz, then increases slightly for each additional ounce.

There is this one

https://store.usps.com/store/browse/productDetailSingleSku.jsp?categoryNavIds=shipping-supplies%3afree-shipping-supplies&categoryNav=false&navAction=push&navCount=0&productId=P_FORM_2976_E&categoryId=free-shipping-supplies

but i am sure he meant some other pouch

This is intended for customs, but I haven't had trouble using it for everything.

FORM 2976-E

I don't know of any envelopes usps gives for shipping first class. I have always bought my own. #00 envelopes work well for 1-3 poly bags depending on the size.

I think they meant pouches for attaching shipping labels to poly mailers (if one does not have label printer)

It is not quite ethical, but I found that UPS free pouches work great for attaching to #00 and even #000 poly mailers. Fedex free ones are a bit too big, and require extra step to sealing the pouch. UPS ones - attaching the pouch is what seals them

"Address pouch" over here:

https://www.ups.com/osa/browse?loc=en_US&category=005  (you have to open an account to be able to order these, i think. or to even view them)

With a limit of 5 do you just order 5 every day?

each is a pack of 10

Let me rephrase it... Are you shipping out more than 50 per week?

Edited by No More Monkeys

yes to clarify. there are no free bubble mailers from USPS for FirstClass, but there are free clear envelopes to put your labels in.

I personally use #0 bubble mailers and half sheet labels

Correct-o...one thing to keep in mind, when you exceed 13 oz, the Priority padded flat rate envelope can work wonders.

use medium sized bubble mailers. usps first class mail is a good option. always use paypal or usps for printing labels since you get a small discounts (and usually free tracking).

this link might help (in general).

note : i'm also merging this thread with existing ones that discuss shipping polybags.

Does anyone have trouble moving polybags? I've been trying to sell a rocket raccoon for a while. Every time I list it, I check recently sold values and try to place it around the middle of the pack. I often use text very similar to the highest selling item.

I find I'm having trouble selling smaller stuff, not looking for a huge profit, just don't want to lose money and am trying to build up feedback.

As long as we are talking about bubble mailers - what's the cheapest source that you found for #000, #00 and #0 sizes? And what was per piece cost?

I ordered 100 #0 bubble mailers from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RB5L3I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I hadn't started selling polybags/small items on ebay yet so I didn't want to order more than 100.

These were $0.16/ea.

Eco-Lite seems to be a good brand and has worked out well for me.

In an extremely saturated market (currently, rocket raccoon and decorating the christmas tree), yes. There is a thread somewhere where justapilgrim details his polybag battle with 40058 decorating the christmas tree on eBay, I think. Might try searching for that, some good tips in there, if I remember correctly.
