Seeing it motorised like that really makes me want to buy one and build it. I had been just going to buy for investment purposes but now have a lust for it myself. Not having the display space might stop me fortunately.

Early last week there was a forum post re the Disney Store having Lone Ranger sets on sale. If anyone purchased sets at that time, you may be eligible for a price adjustment since the sets have now gone on clearance.

 

I purchased 2 Constitution Trains @ $83 each on 7/21. They shipped out to me on 7/25. The time frame for a price adjustment is 7 days from date of shipment. I emailed Disney tonight to see if I could get a price adjustment. Rather than refunding the difference, they are sending me a gift card for EIGHTY DOLLARS! I would have preferred the cash, but that's a pretty sweet gift card!

Now I wish I had bought some.

If the Lone Ranger sets are discontinued soon, they may do very well. I liked the sets before the movie even came out. They just seem like really cool sets.

They must be down to around $40 each. I paid $166 for 2 and I am getting $80 back.

Regarding investing, i still think the train can perform 25%-50% of what the HP Hogwarts Express set is doing so far.  Still not a bad investment if purchased for $80 or less per set.   obviously, the set might be purchased cheaper on clearance. 

 

The set just looks too good and contains track.

Here as well. This may be a sign though, that local retailers will follow suit and clearance also.

Check your local disney store if there is one near you. I only found out it was on clearance because I saw it at the Disney store yesterday, then other people posted they bought it online the previous day for the same price as the B&M store.

Thanks - I called my local store - it's an "outlet" store and she said they haven't received any Lone Ranger items but should in the next couple weeks. She didn't know if there would be any Lego sets though...I'd be surprised if they got any at this point.

My Disney store had one Constitution Train, a few Silver Mines, and about 3 of one other Lone Ranger set (dont recall which). All were at full price. Bummer!

Will be interesting to watch the supply and discounts on Lego.com , Target.com, and Amazon.

My local Target hasn't had a train in about 2 months.
