Are fruitcakes running rampant on eBay lately? Selling, buying, listing, feedback, etc...

Got the Gamer4life777 message today.  Trying to get a Modular for $50.  I told her I felt her pain because my 6 year old son was dying from Leukemia and I needed to sell off my LEGO collection to pay the medial bills and avoid bankruptcy and foreclosure.  Dirtbag.

Update to this crazy story.  Of course the buyer never returned the item and never sent any documentation verifying they received their package with rat feces inside.  I called eBay

I haven't slept since.

I would give someone a discount if they were just real with me:

Hi. I am married with 2 children. They are terrible. I hate my wife. I live in a trailer.

I just want some damn Lego

Automatic 50% discount.

Sending you an eBay message now! Thanks! :D

This is an interesting thread......Im gonna go ahead & leave this here: copy&paste

"Wow way to rip people off with your prices!! Ebay shouldn't let people like you sell on eBay.. My don is 8 and can't afford this kind of money and I refuse to buy it for him!! Shame on you !"

Username: I will leave that out... this item was $35.00

Here's another one, this gentlemen is from another country

"Never I wasnt interested in buy you nothing. I dont like the scalper employee of ACTIVISION.
Tomorrow you will have a big surprise in your work for this auction. Good luck"

Got accused of being a scalper & an Activision Employee, along with being threatened all in the same message:   WIN-WIN-WIN ....lol

Back story: this guy messaged me a few times before I finally responded. He was actually trying to get me to buy his items while posting questions on my items marked as other, I told him I wasn't interested. I asked him if he had a question about the item he posted the questions on & that was his response. wow

You think that could go for around $500-$600? That does have a ton of minifigs in it.

My low ball offer and sad story was automatically declined for your Batcave.

What about if we have funny messages from buyers that were actually really happy, ok to post them here....jaisonline?

Yeah this might not qualify because it was caused by her getting something for free. Her initial reaction was priceless though

Ok, first off I would never call this women a "fruitcake", she's just too damn awesome.....

I received this message from a returning customer. She had just purchased 2 other items from me that were not that cheap, so I had to do something for her. The initial release of this item was extremely limited & was selling for around $40-$50 on eBay.

Omg my kids just crapped. Thank you so much for the sunburn/dragon's peak. I really wasn't expecting that and I really appreciate it! Even without the free sunburn this has been the best eBay experience I've had. Please let me know when you get a wham shell in hand then they have them all and I can forget about it.... Until the next big thing. Lol.

Daniel

P.S. She got the wham-shell for free too about a month later.

I've had this guy messaging me and offering me the 50% of my price on stone minifigs from the new xmen set. I had two sentinels and a x-jet. We went back and forth, him telling me to combine this and that but he had only $50 to spend. He then wanted two sentinels and cyclops and magneto. I told him no, I figured I'd educate him and tell him to go yo lego.com where he could buy the set for $50!!!! He responded back asking, "so does this mean your accepting my offer?" Wtf?

Off topic, anybody see what trenth got for his star wars collection on eBay? Glad he let it ride...

Why do people waste their time with tools on ebay?

Sometimes it provides me entertainment, this guy I was trying to make a combined offer and to be nice. When I realized he wasn't buying at my prices, that's when I told him to go to LEGO.

I leave my best offer open. My thinking is that I'm willing to work out in a price and don't want to miss out on something. I put an auto decline in something I was selling recently, and found myself doing the price to where it auto-declined. So I try to give faith in the eBay community that they will use it responsibly. Lately it's been just nonsense.

I cant stand getting those messages where people TELL you what price they will pay for YOUR item. It's never anywhere near what I have it up for sale for. I got a link one time from a guy telling me that my item's price was too high, it was a limited PSVITA bundle that was out of production for about a year. The link was to a Feed & Supply store out of NY. They sell pet food & just so happened to have one item that was in the electronics category. It was $17.00 cheaper than mine & didn't include the DLC that mine did........Yeah ok bubs!

Right....people like that I have no problem telling to go buy it there. Someone messaged me back in January telling me my shelob attacks for $25 was just $12 on LEGO Shop at Home when they cut the price and I was charging to much. Perks of being at the right place at the right time!

I guess he found out you have been catching people and cutting off the top of their heads... You tried but you couldn't get away with it man.

Lol Yeah some items have to have a floor because I am tired of getting 1$ offers.
