Are fruitcakes running rampant on eBay lately? Selling, buying, listing, feedback, etc...

I listed a sealed 30th Gold C3P0 and some person kept emailing and asking how he can find one in a sealed boxed set. Needless to say, he never placed a Buy It Now offer after I asked if he was interested. Then I finally received a decent offer that I accepted. The UK buyer never paid after asking me twice if shipping will require a signature.

I won an open UCS Vader Tie Defender and the seller doesn't want to claim my payment via PayPal. Although feedback was low, his email is legit. I just sent him one.

My son wanted a Batman 1 Batmobile so I won one, Auction stated complete except for the road block. 16 minor elements ended up missing from both vehicles and seller shipped the set in the original lego box (wasn't listed in the auction) w/ supermarket brown paper around it. Never the less, the box was a pleasant surprise.

Feel free to also post any eBay feedback horror stories.

Update to this crazy story.  Of course the buyer never returned the item and never sent any documentation verifying they received their package with rat feces inside.  I called eBay

Whatever happened to that a hole? (Sorry I'm in the Dominican Republic and have been enjoying run drinks since 8 am.

"Whatever happened to" sounds like a great title for a new thread.  We can all keep tabs on DNIIM, stephen_rockefeller, trekgate, hcxkid, etc, etc, etc

Pretty sure @trekgate502 still visits here - I believe he even posted last Sunday. Category dcdfan .......

Maybe the next fundraiser campaign could be towards a retirement home for brickpickers and resellers.

As a tribute, I was sent one of those Jenna Jameson jigglers, just sayin'.  I need to see if it's still hidden from the kids.

"self-imposed exile" would be a common theme

Hey there,

I am interested in the set and I'm ok with the box wear because it's for myself. Can you do $115 shipped to 60463?

Al

"

Item is listed for $200 with no option for Best Offer.

Al knows the sky is falling in. In 6 months you´ll be glad to get the 115.

I had an offer for a TH earlier this week... $200.

The sky is not falling that hard.

Then there's the smartasses pointing out that MSRP is only x $/€. Or "store x is selling it for only y €!".

Plus people expecting you to lower your price because they want local pickup and have a long drive. "I know the item is listed for 30€, but I can only offer you 20€, because I have to drive 100km to pick it up."

I try to be friendly on ebay, but it's really hard with these kinds of buyers.

Let´s talk this time next year. They are currently selling for 350 euros from a high of 500. Either that or only sell on Amazon.

Ass Square could help or hinder it. We´ll find out soon.

I would direct them to purchase the item at said establishment.

Last year on Christmas Eve, I had a craigslist ad up for Poe's X-Wing.$100. Not really making anything considering I bought at retail and just want out of something I had expected to flip.. Some joker calls me up and offers me $60 since they're only selling for $50 in the store, but he needs one for a Christmas gift. I tell him that they were $80 in the store plus tax pushing it up to almost $90. He's like "Well, if you change your mind, you have my number." My nephew instead gets one for Christmas and a friend gets the other. A week later I get a text from the same joker asking if I still had it,"Nope."

Received a retired set this week that was listed as new and with the box condition as excellent. The box is creased in multiple places, and the back flap has been taped closed as the glue holding the box together came apart.
