Let's get proactive about LEGO scams on eBay.

About a week ago I ordered 4 tower bridges off of eBay from a top rated seller for 220 each. The seller is a top rated seller with over 200 Feedback The day after the seller notified me that he was out of stock on tower bridges. However he willl make things right Last night I went to the mall to pick up some cafe friends sets at my local Lego store When I returned home. There sat 15 Lego sets. FedEx droppe off 5 ssd 5 Death Star and 5 tower bridge. All shipped from Walmart with stolen credit cards. 2 town hall were not even packed. They slapped at tracking label right on the Lego box Now the question is. What do I do. Who do I contact. How do I cover my ass.

I'm with you guys. The returning and buying from scammers makes me embarrassed to even be associated with this stuff. Believe it or not, these actions get noticed by TLG. Supporting these kinds of a

The reason he told you is b/c drop shipping is not illegal and almost every company has someone who does drop shipping for them.  Basically it works like this...XYZ company says...Hell yeah I'll

Picked up a few unexpected gathering for 45 bucks Free ship .. no tax on ebay .. makes you wonder tho .. because it sells for $49 in stores at walmart + tax .. and not to mention the cost to ship the set .. so I am not sure how selling a brand new box for 45 bucks free shipping with ebay/paypal fees how they can turn a profit. I am going to assume drop ship or stolen

People wouldn't do that for such a small set. What happens often is:

1. People buy these on clearance for even lower and flip them quickly for a few bucks

2. People buy them on clearance and then see they aren't worth much and sell them cheap.

If you are going to drop ship something, you normally would pick a bigger set.

While this isn't an eBay scammer, it sure looks suspicious.  It is actually a "Sponsored Link" on eBay.

Anyone have any experiences with ordering from this company?  The pricing for these Lego Exclusives seems insanely low across the board.  This website screams "PromotionLists"-type scam to me.

It is a scam - I bought from them previously and it was dropshipped and they paid an insane price for it. I returned it.

Also - good rule of thumb:

Type the item into google and go to "shopping". If it isn't indexed by Google, a lot of times it is illegitimate as well.

I haven't ordered from them before, but it reminds me too much of PromotionLists.com also. I would steer clear.

Well... I think I just fell for a scam. I am a total ebay noob and was looking for a good deal on a UCS R2 to build. Jumped on one of the first ones I saw and pulled the trigger. After the initial excitement I realized that something seemed off, so I took a closer look and, after reading this thread, it is pretty damn obvious that its a scam.

I have requested a cancel and refund of my order. Hopefully it will be done without issue.

Don't - it happens to everyone. Just ask for the refund - most of them don't want the trouble and they will do it.

If they fight it - ask them where it was shipped from. If the listing says somewhere different, you have a reason for refund as the item was not represented to you properly.

Feel free to PM me if you need anything else. I have unfortunately done this before...

Thanks DNIIM, much appreciated.

I received a response today saying that they would refund my money. Hopefully they will...

This is a dropship scam.

A lot of the stuff on there is too good to be true so it's most likely a scam.

ordered once before -  for sure scam

I called that toll free phone number the other day and it was a company in Chicago, and they knew nothing about selling Lego sets.

wow, these sites are popping up everywhere

In the continuing saga... Guy said he was having issues with paypal and couldn't refund my order. He assured me that everything was legit (uh huh). He takes quite a while to respond back to me when I message him, unfortunately. I asked for specifics on where he was shipping from and for photos of the item. I said I did not want the item if it was not shipped from the stated source on the auction. He replied by stating that the item is already on the way.... ughh.

Check out the shipping. It's probably a typo...or it's shipped via submarine from Fiji.

Finally got the guy to refund my purchase after giving him an ultimatum. Here is what he wrote back:

"ok I will refund you and prove you are not fooled by your delivery for next week.

Once you get them you have to pay"

Huh? I guess he's still planning on shipping???

i set a trap for an ebay scammer and caught one red handed.

so a fellow named REVERSALTRADER bought 5 41999 crawlers off me. as well as many other's from many other people. needless to say a fellow ebay seller contacted me a few days ago with this message: "I also sold a 41999 crawler to reversaltrader. Have they made a claim for a damaged package to you? They state mine arrived damaged and a friend of mine also sold them one and they state the same thing." thankfully he did not claim any items were damaged from me, but i did give this fellow seller some advice:

"bottom line is i would not take him seriously until he sends pictures of whatever damage hes talking about, bc he could just be lying to try and get a few bucks back. (have your friend do the same thing and see if he sends a picture of the same box to both of you, then you can just report him to ebay and not have to deal with anything)" this seller followed my advice and compared the picture's he received from reversaltrader with the ones his/her friend received AND THEY WERE PICTURES OF THE SAME BOX!! ?and get this the seller who contacted me has found a third seller who was getting extorted out of 100$ for a supposedly damaged box. so we are having seller #3 ask for pictures of the damage as well, and seeing if he also gets the picture of the same box. it looks like reversaltrader sat on top of his boxes and is trying to get money for it from all his sellers. so if you sold any crawlers to reversaltrader (i know some of you have posted that you did) beware of his damaged box scam, and if he try's it on you, report him.
