What is the rarest LEGO you own?

I'm interested in hearing about the rarest sets/minifigures/pieces that everyone has been fortunate to own. So what was the single rarest LEGO product you have/had? Is it part of your personal collection, or are you planning on selling it?

Up until today, the rarest set I currently own was 3300003, LEGO Store Set. However, since I have started to collect the Superman theme in its entirety, I splurged and bought myself the 2012 SDCC Bizarro Minifigure.

Now I am lucky enough to own every Superman set/minifigure that has been produced (until the SDCC 2013 minifig comes out). So show off your most prized possession so the rest of us can drool over it!!!!

I have this 4x4 base plate that I signed my name on with a Sharpie.  I bet you that is pretty rare, as in the only one in the world.  That is unless I decided to sign my name on some other bricks &#13

I've got an Orc Forge.  ...2012 from the Lord of the Rings collection.

  •     Nice!! That is a sweet looking model. I think all of the past snow speeders were better versions than the one out now/released in the past couple years. I have the minifig scaled

Nothing truly special. Based on availability, The Zombies and Batman 1 The Tumbler.

Something tells me my owned since childhood King's Castle, Black Forrest Forrest, and The Armor Shop were vast produced.

Like many, I don't have rare per se, but I have some cool vintage: Caribbean Clipper, Black Seas Barracuda, El Dorado's Fortress, and the gray King's Castle.

:)

Now your talking my speed.  I haven't really had a chase item come to me yet, someday I'm sure.

Either the Holiday Train, which I was lucky to pick up for $50 one year (hasn't been built either), or the entire modular line that is sitting nice in a row.

I have the same from my childhood except insert "black falcons" castle instead of kings castle!

Those were all great sets.  Definitely provided some serious fun during my formative years.

I had Black Monarch's Castle as well as KC - definitely a step up.  I also had Forestmen's Crossing and Forestmen's hideout, but never got the River Fortress.  Still ticked to this day...

It's not that rare, I can sign your name on any 4x4 base plate I want!

Market street is probably the most rare lego set i own.

Counterfit Alert !!!!

The forrestmen were my favorite! I believe I have all of them but haven't actually checked the whole list on brickset. I know I have those 3 plus more stored away.

Market Street. Not really rare, but not as common as some other sets.

You can't really say its not rare when it sells for 1000% retail after just 4 years EOL.

BSB is an awesome set. It really takes a long time to build compared to something like the black pearl.

Oh, I also have a MISB 10175 Vader's TIE Advanced. I got it from iBrickshop back in Feb for $280 :) sooo hard not to rip it open and build it, but I've decided it'll be worth $600 by 2015...

I don't know about 'rare' exactly. I have one The Zombies set and two The Orc Forges, all at retail. I have the original yellow castle from 1981 and some other oldies but not sure being old makes them rare as such. I have collected some of the DK book minifigures if that somehow counts.

That Bizarro is super awesome and sure wish I had one. You're a lucky man, ExoBro94!

Does having the original boxes and instructions from my childhood 1984-1986 Castle sets make mine more rare :). Prob not. Darn.

Anyway, I just sold my gold chrome plated c3po and have one left. I assume that is my rare item.

I guess 10179 might be my most expensive set... I doubt it's the rarest? I've got quite a bit of sealed 60's-70's stuff

Trying to get some of the minifigs from this round of SDCC. Being a collector sucks... haha.

Well, I purchased a Black Suit Superman. I'll post pictures when he arrives.

Nice. Hope it didn't cost you a fortune.

I was saving up for it for a while actually. I keep a reserve of money that I use for occasions such as this one. Plus, with only 200 being made, I think it will hold it's value extraordinarily well. But it's for my collection, so I won't sell it unless I absolutely need to (which will never happen, with the way I have learned to budget  :D).

Glad you got it. It's a great figure.

Have 2 of the NY comic con I love NY displays  Only 125 made

Have an AFA graded 4502 at a 95 only 1 graded that high
