How could I create a hologram effect?

Featured Replies

Today I saw a lego display where they simulated a hologram effect and I got some interest on it. Does anybody knows how to do it? I have been looking for information of it

I think that they have a light that projects the "hologram" onto the glass in front. I've also heard that it isn't that hard to program your own, but I'm not that much of a techy guy, so I don't know how easy it is.

It's pretty simple to set it up but the whole animation thing I guess, is a bit tricky. To build the display area, first, set up the LEGO display how you want it. Then put in a piece of glass from the bottom-front to the top-back of the display like in the picture displayed below. Then put an LCD projector on the top of the box facing down. When the LCD is on the images will be reflected off of the glass at a 45 degree angle and the images will be displayed on the front of the display.

Hope this helps in your quest to make your own display.
