I have no problem spending that kind of money on a figure that is limited.  If that's the price, and you want it, who cares? I have spent many times that on baseball cards in the past, so I see no issue in it.

They aren't for sale. They've had various ways of distributing them over the years, but last year they only gave them away on one day (at the LEGO booth) and they scanned your badge during the morning

Why should the people who attend things like this not have the opportunity to get special things? It's the nature of collecting and fan conventions. This has been going on for years, so you may as we

I am amazed at the prices this year - I haven't even seen any low priced ones slip through the cracks (as has been the norm).

Who would have thought that the pre-sale listings for $400 each was a bargain?

if i follow you you just paid almost 600 dollars for a lego mini figure. All I can say is WOW! I can't fathom doing that

you could sell for it $1000

Yes I did, and I feel fantastic about it. Like justafrog said, what some people can't fathom, others do on a daily basis. This is for my personal collection. And, as it is one of 200 in the world, I believe if I wanted to sell one day (I never would) I could make a profit. Remember, these figures are selling for that price right now, while there are 20+ listings. Think about the price gains when there are only 2 listings.

This year Is crazy with the SDCC figure prices. I managed to get steals on the previous years but this one doesn't look like that will happen..

Same here - I am now wishing that I pulled the trigger on day 1 (I could have bought a couple Spider Woman for 300 each)

DID SOME ONE SAY blog-profit.jpg

I just searched "SDCC 2013" on eBay and narrowed the results down to sold listings only. The LEGO exclusives make up more than half of all the 2013 Comic Con memorabilia sold so far. That is nuts...

Woah comic con has a lot of memorabilia and Lego is half of it

Ok, this is just getting crazier and crazier. A day ago a seller listed an Azog minifigure. The starting bid was $200 and there was no buy-it-now option or reserve. It just sold for $925. http://bit.ly/woahhhhnelly

Yeah but I'd be shocked if buyer actually pays. It is a newbie buyer.

Hello Everyone -

and we all thought the madness couldn't get any worse with the New SDCC Azog selling at $899.00 - well here it is

two days left, and right now at $1,525.00!!!

do you feel like this mini figure will go down? - or is this here to stay? - i believe there is only 100 of them made

You have to have some crazy disposable income to bid that high on a single minifigure. I agree it will likely be released in an alternative version In a future hobbit set.

At least 4 people willing to pay that insane price... Sounds like our economy is doing much better then we  think :))

Heh, and it's from the seller who has just 5 feedbacks.  Sweet.

I swear I have never heard the term "butt hurt" so much in all my life.

Actually, I've never even heard of the term until this site. :dontknow:

My standard response would use more profanity :P

Somewhere a 6 year old is playing with a $1500 minifigure. Probably a little girl and Azog is driving a "cool convertible".

Lol that is just ridiculous. I think ill wait to get Azog in the set that he will eventually be released in. If he is never released in a set then so be it. He is cool but not 1500 dollars cool.
