With all of the threads for what you bought, built, or sold, I think it might be interesting to hear what some people passed up on while out shopping? Might help get an idea of what one doesn't like.

 

Note: Don't get crazy with this, obviously one could list every set at there local store, but that would defeat the purpose of this.  I'm hoping this might help with impulse buying, which I'm sure many of us have done from time to time...

Found a DC at Walmart yesterday.  Passed on it.  At retail, at this point, seems like it's not worth it.

So a toy store with all Lego sets?

A DC right now is gold. I have been hit up 7 times on Craigslist between yesterday and today with offers. Too bad I only had two left.

That's because LEGOLAND is owned by Merlin not LEGO (they own and operate theme parks). They will sometimes give you a 10% discount if you have your card but do not honor the rewards points.

I was at B&****** that had one each of 3061 Friends City Park Cafe and 3184 Friends Adventure Camper.

 

They were full price, and I didn't have a coupon, otherwise I would have picked them up.

I went to local supermarket to buy some pasta sauce, and before I bought the pasta sauce, I stopped by the toy section. They had a couple sets for 20% off, mostly Chima, a couple Friends sets. There were also some Chima Speedorz that was 50% off. The hilarious part is that there were 5  SW Freeco Speeders sitting on the shelves for $29.99. No discount. I cannot believe this. They still had some 2 years after EOL. I could not stop laughing.

Passed on Hive Crawlers at 32 and Bug Obliterators at 40 at a Wal-Mart.  Good Prices on both, but they had a ton.  May cave and get a Hive Crawler.  Did find a Superman Lex for 15 there. 

 

Jabba's Palace was marked 75 and Goblin King 50, but they were both OOS.

I keep skipping the LR Silver Mine at $47.99, because I really want to see if they will hold out for the 70% off clearance this month. They seem to be drying up everywhere so I don't know if they'll last that long.  There's so many great slope pieces in that one it's hard to ignore, plus the minifigs average at about $28 combined over on bricklink...

I would have bought a very nice R2-D2 this morning but the cashier and manager at B&****** wouldn't take the children's club 30% off coupon. I guess that explains why they still have the R2 and a Death Star sitting on the floor.

I didn't buy a Medieval Marketplace on Amazon WH.  Feeling regret this morning.

Went to a Walmart today, that had a Quinjet and a LR Train.  Both were scanned at MSRP.

I have been Banned from LEGO, so I understand China is into the Modular block type buildings to fit with the expensive lego ones. $69.95, three colors 2,100 pieces, 12 mini-figures. It's a combination Donut shop, Massage Parlor and Chinese Restaurant. It should be a lot of fun and sell really wel to the adult collector. Ha Ha

I found 6866 at walmart for regular price. The box is very beat up. I did not get it. I also found 3818 for $35 and the box is also in very bad shape, so did not get it neither. That was a week ago. Today, I went to Walmart to return something, and went to Lego section, of course could not find these two sets anymore. Wonder if I should have gotten them though.

Fair enough. Dniim. Good read on ur blog too. I'd add in the X wing. Think it will easily be 100.00 csn be had for 50 range often and was 44.00 on target last week. Some sold around 80 at Christmas. Found a heartlake Stables at tru for 55 too. Gonna go back. Use that fifteen percent coupon. And a five dollar rewards.

You passed on free money? Wish I could find them at that price again. I got some when Amazon had them at $25 last year.

I like the stables too. Man, the first couple of friends sets that retired have just done insanely. I really am kicking myself for not loading up on more friends sets. I have about two of all the 3xxx sets (besides olivias house). I think the flying club and the treehouse are going to triple or quadruple.

 

Adventure Camper you will more than double your money on. SO hard to find now.

I'm questioning myself for passing on the one I saw for $34.99 the other day.  You definitely need to go back and get it.
