Wow. This might be one of the craziest deals I ever found. I just left Savers (a goodwill type store). Found a big bag of Legos marked $9.99. I had a 30% off coupon, so I paid $7. I wasn't sure what w

It´s a good idea to pull up an average discount of what you have  bought as that helps when setting sales prices.

Some sets will be turds but can be offset by the gems and you can see overall your average profit, which is the bottom line.

I rely on columns RRP (local) and Purchase (local) price next to each other.. so I can judge at the blink of the eye what was the approx. discount.. you can always tell by seeing 799 RRP .. purchased at 429 .. that its like 50 % off..

Yes, but how do you keep track of your profit (or loss) on sales?

pretty easy - havent sold a single set yet :D  (Renault formula not counting - that was .. how you call it "flipping"? )

there is of course "a third column" called "selling price" .. for my purposes its totally sufficient. I can judge both by the USD RRP and local RRP against local purchase price and current development on BP US, EU and UK market

oh.. now I maybe got your point: I list each set on a single row in Excel sheet. so If I have 10 same sets, they are on 10 rows and the "sum functions" below the columns give me precise count of the total purchase price, total piece count.. even a total weight!

Somebody might move this to a different thread in advice, but I would insert a row at the top for your "sum function" or totals, or averages. This way you won't have to keep shifting it down or moving it.

I dont have to shift it .. i use "dividers" in Excel sheet and also whenever I need to put in extra set - I just add a couple of new rows between the last set and "sums line". its pretty neat actually

Was supposed to leave for Florida on Saturday but had to postpone by two days due to part of the family being down with a heavy cold/light flu, so compensated with a hunt for $25 75153 AT-STs at WalMart. Most stores around me are sold out, but a few have inventory showing on inventory trackers. Somehow Walmart itself doesn’t even have a listing for this set anymore (anyone know why?). The two stores showing 7 and 4 in stock have nothing to be found (even had an associate at one scan the back for me to no avail), but finally found 2 on the shelf at a WM which showed 2 in stock.... weird but happy.

Other noteworthy clearance finds:

10704 Black Friday Brick Box for $15 (WM)

60117 Van & Caravan for $9 (Target)

Got a used 7662 Trade Federation MTT, a 7675 AT-TE, and about 40 lbs of semi completed sets and bulk to sort through for $100 today.  Was a pretty good score, and I'm seeing some promising parts in the bulk so I'm excited to see what else I've got in there.

This is true. Should I tell my "I returned 10 black pearls story" again? Bought 10 on target.com at $90 or something. Found many more at Walmart for $60. Returned those 10 from target. Next visit there were 10 black pearls on an end cap for $99 titled "manager's special."

Just sitting on shelves in my local Lego shop. They had three more in back so took them as well. 5fbd31e39f55e9bfd5e6e9aa6497f20a.heic

Which is your local store?

Sand Baseplates for $5.58 at Target. 30% off. I’ll take ‘em.

these are also being cleared at virtually every walmart i have been to in the last week for $5.  often unmarked.  arm sweeping at either price.

i have way too many of these but who can say no to a $5 retiring baseplate?

Also cleared out their remaining Phantoms and Minecraft sets. All at 30% off. Got a bunch of Scarriff Trooper and Admiral Yuralen Polys. Always pays to always provide good and constructive feedback whenever you buy from Lego, since they typically always follow up with a call back and from then get to know you and because of that they occasionally keep things in mind for you or give you freebies. Happy New Year!

I bought two Bee Brickheadz and two Flower Displays from LEGO Shop at Home for the dragster polybag

21103 BTTF Delorean, used £40 Facebook Market place pickup.

The guy had so many nice sets for sale but this was the only one I felt was low enough to turn around a profit, after I've built and displayed it for a while of course. :)

Stopover on the way to Orlando at a Target in Southern Tennessee landed me 1x70601 Ninjago Sky Shark. Wasn't giving a price on any of the scanners (wall-mount, employee, register). Guys at electronics said it was scrapped merchandise and I wouldn't be able to buy it, but the lady at CS found an online price and managed to print an "Online Item" 30% off sticker to make my purchase price $11 (website price was $16.49, RRP $19.99). Set is down to last 5 sellers on Amazon, with only 1 FBA for $60 so score!

Good discount. though a quick look on ebay "sold" and there are no sales above £50? Are those ones listed for sale at c. £150 being realistic?

(not knocking your choice! just wondering if the ebay pries are realistic and whether this really is a £150 set).

There are a few genuine ones at £120 over past two days, with non stock photos. Any sold listings with stock listings I disregard. Will keep mine till next Xmas.

None in Manchester store but found another 4 in the deepest darkest corners of the internet.  Ninjago dragons forge 70627 has a similar trajectory so buying up every one of those I can find too.
