Just like the title asks, what LEGO set did you buy today?

I bought the 4184 POTC Black Pearl.

yeah apparently i got spared last year but this year got hit with the "hard ban" i.e. ban is address ban hence can't order online.

a. either the quantity purchased during $25 off $100 purchase.. i had 6X orders for 75103 @ 59,99 each... or

b. online to store pickup for #75085 [ this one was to a store with fishy store manager ]

So you've tried placing orders after the ones that got cancelled and those got cancelled too?  If you haven't, I'd try that first.  After that, I'd set up a new account with a different email address, but the same shipping address and see if orders from that account get banned.  You should also try using a different credit card.  When I was banned last year, they banned the account from placing orders and banned the redcard that I had used on the account, but did not ban my shipping address or my other credit cards.  I was a bit surprised because I ship to a UPS Store and have to work through customer service to get the shipping address set up in their system and had no problem doing that about 10 days after I was banned.  Also, when my redcard was issued a new number this year, I was able to use it so there are limits to the extent to which their system implements the ban.

when you start one spends a lot. but after a while you know what set is going to stuck where. when you buy 100X of same sets you get lot of crap so have to weigh each one on receipt to filter the problem ones before you ship out.

so one tends to remember all the problem sets...

Wow.  I guess I'm living on borrowed time then because I haven't made any effort whatsoever to sequence or structure my purchases to hide the fact that I'm a reseller.

I wanted to make a new post, but I bought them today,  so.......

What do you think of this set, should I Quick Flip them or hold them for later when they are fewer on the market?

the last 2 years have actually stayed even or gone down a little from initial sales.  This years set is more desirable though so it might do a bit better.  Right now will be the most competition since the employees in US just received them this week.  Just depends on your buy in and what your goals are.  Either way you can probably count on it staying at in the $250-300 range for the next year at worst case scenario.

How does one get 16?

the ups store lets you get 100's of boxes with just 1 mailbox there?

Lol..I have to say I was rooting for@cladner on this. This set is selling pretty well though so making the 50 dollar mark is not totally out of the question. When...is anyone's guess.

lol - i misread newbie's comment that there was no way you could ship the cave under 2.0 lbs. e.g. it might weight 2.1 lbs.

i also agree there is no way you are shipping the cave first class or @ 16 oz unless your name is kmart.

i appreciate newbie77 's experienced insight into the reselling game and also sharing with the group his recent experience and warning about being banned by target.  

in this instance i'm happy to be the crazy brickpicker who predicted The Cave would get to $50 within 12-16 months of EOL.

afterall minecraft is the 12th most populous country in the world.

In my experience those small Speed Champions sets have such flimsy boxes, it's almost impossible for a large volume retailer to not ding them.

Yeah they are extremely thin material boxes. Like Star Wars battlepack thin.

Oh, so that's you? If you're marketing an item on eBay as "extremely rare" .... posting a picture of all 16 in your listing isn't helping your case.

As far as sell or hold, I would definitely hold unless you absolutely need that money RIGHT NOW. Obviously, the retail employees are getting their sets now. A natural (small, but still) flood will occur that will drive down prices in the short term.
